Hi.
I purchased a used Spurgin oil cooler for my X1, no instructions were included. Mounting seems obvious but is their any pre filling and purging required?

Thanks.

Joel I've got the oil cooler also, good choice.Fill your oil tank to its capacity then take the bike for a ride and worm the bike up.Then check it again, add more accordingly.Good luck.

If it were me I'd pre-fill it as much as possible.

It all depends if the filter cools the oil before or after going through the motor.

It has a thermostat in it so the oil won't go in untill the oil is hot enough that it needs to be cooled.Thats why I said go get it good and warmed up then check it again.

I like mine alot . . .. . don't forget the drain plug on the non-inlet side for more complete oil changes . . . .I'm embarrassed to say I missed it for a couple of changes . . . . . .

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that forgot that drain plug.Didn't think of it myself twice.
