I've been hearing about it being made for a couple of years now.
Al, from American Sportbike, has a couple of bikes in the movie, IIRC.

That's awesome. Wondering how bad it would hurt to have the front tire crush the face shield and grind into your face... talk about luck, damn hollywood.

Not quite. But A.S.B. did provide a bunch of parts for the bikes in the movie, especially the X1. The bike shown in the beginning of the trailer is a highly modified and blinged out X1 with dual underseat exhausts. They built 4 of them, and supposedly three of them survived the filming intact. Not sure what became of them, though. The release looks to be a year later than originally planned.

Thanks for setting me straight.
I just couldn't remember the details, only that you were involved some how.
Did a search, but you know how that goes sometimes.

Wow...Can't wait to see more pics of that X1.

Preferably without a rider. I want to savor the detail.

After that, a material/build list might be high on my priority list since I'm not as fast as I used to be.

This roll is one that Cage has wanted for a number of years (I think he may be too old for it not but he seems to have adapted). Cage himself is a motorcycle guy, though not to the extent that Jay Leno is, he owns a lot of bikes.

Al...You are my hero!!!

Thanks a million for the pics. Oh, that is a sweet looking machine.

The smartest thing I did in a long time was let my bride see the pics. Looks like their may be some X1 mods in my future.

Can you provide any information concerning the sources for the Bars, Saddle, Pipes, Air Cleaner and Wheel/Tire Size?

I recognize a lot of parts from your online catalog so unless you want to do some PR work, you won't need to include those. Although they would be greatly appreciated.

No need for any info concerning NOS system for me, but others may be interested. At this old age, the X1 is quick enough for me. LOL

In the event you have any more pics of the bike, they would be greatly appreciated for when I hit the local fabricators.

Ewww...this is going to be fun as that is the bike I have always wanted.

Remember, this is hollywood. All is not what you think in hollywood, looks can be deceiving, and things can look really cool but not work well, as long as they make it through the scene.

The NOS bottles are for show, I'm pretty sure they aren't hooked up.

The undertail exhaust prototype was fabricated over the course of a couple days. The others were likely handmade to match. I told them about the fact that the engine floated relative to the frame, and that they would crack in no time if they didn't put a flexible link in. They also used isolator stiffeners to minimize the relative movement, but it makes for a much rougher ride. The oil tank was custom fabricated to allow the pipes to get through. Note the somewhat cheesy (relative to the rest of the bike) cover behind the air cleaner. I suspect the battery had to bodged in a bit to make it all work.

The wheels are stock polished wheels. The tires are Avon, I think, not sure though.

The saddle is a custom made one off (6 off, anyway)

Not sure where the bars came from, I didn't source those.

The air cleaner is this:http://www.americansportbike.com/shop/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi?usr=51F4868385&rnd=4436 417&rrc=N&affl=&cip=71.136.91.145&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=5642&cat=&catstr=

There are a bunch of parts not listed all over the bike that we provided, and we even provided some parts for the chopper used in the movie (not the devil bike).

It's a very cool looking bike. They did the prototype up in an amazingly short time, and then followed with 5 more incredibly fast. The folks that make movies don't screw around, they spend the money to make things happen NOW.

I don't think we'll be in the credits..but we bent over backwards to help them out getting the parts in a timely manner, and I know the guy responsible for building the bikes up was pleased. He said he'd be happy to drop our name if the motorcycle mags asked about it. But even if they don't, it was a nice sale and it was fun to help get it on the screen.

I'd said 4 before, but it was 6 that were built. I think they scraped together all the 99/00 X1's for sale in Australia when they built them.

Think that rear cylinder might be running a tad lean? : )

I dont like those risers on that X1 though..

Way to go Al...

Al,
No Carbon?????? That is an awesome looking X1, great job. Any chance you'd let a screen saver sized pic (assuming you have one) go? I need a nice X1 based screensaver. I can setup a place to ftp the file if its too big to mail
