Looks like we are going to need them. I find it a coincidence the Illegals are wreeking havoc in our country now since our military is busy. We shall see how they act when our military returns home.

If you don't think this is storming into your neighborhoods you've got your head buried in the ground. Just stating my observations without any malice. NUTS

Guess I need to move to Mexico, there must be some nice cheap land for sale since everyone seems to be leaving that country.

I think we all need to arm ourselves. Not sure if we are going to need such weaponry ,but doesn't hurt to be prepared just in case.

If they want to be Americans so bad, I'm sure they wouldn't mind doing a 2 year minimum stint in the military and at least one rotation to the sandbox? They would probably run back across the border.

You can buy land or a business, but it can be "nationalized" or usurped by the mexican
government at ANY time. Subject to their whim.

Then we should just cash in on all the loans we have given them and make it part of America.

We already took most of the western USA from the Mexicans during the Louisiana purchase. Bought from France of all countries, not even Spain!

How much more of Mexico did you want to steal???

Steal? You ever heard of the Gadsden Purchase? And whattya mean WE? None of my kin were here then. My grandparents came here from Japan before 1920 LEGALLY. Mom's half of the family got sent to Manzanar, born citizens and legal immigrants alike, the ladies anyway, the men all raised their right hands, Ed at Fort Sam, Spud and George in the 442nd fought their way up through Italy and into France, and Dad from the East Coast was in the Engineers mapping the interior of Panama. Grandma and Grandpa learned to read and write and speak English and learned all about the Constitution as soon as they got here but they waited patiently for 35 years until the US gov't saw fit to grant them citizenship. I couldn't believe it, I was waiting at MPF to get my wife a new dependent ID and here the CNN news had invented a new term, IMMIGRANT RIGHTS, and then this clown comes on and says new laws would "make 12 million Americans into criminals," can you believe the incredible insult to even a moron's intelligence? I swear.

We, the USA, during the tenure of the French over Mexico and most of the lands west of the Mississippi, bought all the land for a pittance from their brief conquering regime, before they were again displaced from the whole continent. Mexicans didn't just start immigrating to what we call the USA, large parts of it were part of Spain's New World, remember? Who were the French to sell it? They were in power there for a couple of decades at most.

Ancient history to you later immigrants, but Spanish influence in the Americas and the world is immense and pervasive. Remember the Catholic Church? They also are the only market we can count on to buy American goods, how many Chevys do you think are in Europe, Japan, Russia, Mideast, Africa or China? They actually have mucho dealers in Latin America for decades.

Try and stop immigration, you'll never do it. Since we stood upright man has migrated to find sustenance for himself and his family. You think drawing lines in the sand in Texas, Iraq, Russia or anyplace will stop that drive, have at it, see if it works.

You are trying to stop an evolutionary drive for survival that has gone on for at least 100 thousand years or so. We are fast approaching a turning point in climatic change, none of this may matter a hoot in another decade or so. We may all be on the migration trail, looking for bare sustenance and dry land. That comes from that radical publication TIME magazine in their recent centerpiece article.

Mexico and points south may look pretty good in a economic collapse of the Western industrial infrastructure. What is the old adage, be careful who you step on climbing up the ladder, because you'll probably meet them on the way back down?

The American Govt is working hard to make all Americans "persona non gratis" everywhere around the world, that could backfire you know...

I just updated my history lesson and wanted to correct some things. The Louisiana Purchase in 1803 consisted of what we generally call the Plains States from the western banks of the Mississippi to the Rockie Mts. and Spain disputed the boundaries and the actual sale. saying it was illegal for France to sell it to the USA.

The acquisition of the SW USA of Calif, New Mexico, Colo, Arizona followed the "Manifest Destiny" doctrine and began with the annexation of Texas, a breakaway state from Mexico that led to the Mexican-American War in 1848 and the defeat of Mexico and invasion of Mexico City by the USA army following a amphibious landing in Veracruz.

In defeat Mexico ceded the lands to us and we paid some money and agreed to assume and settle the claims of the Mexicans in those territories.

During our Civil War France sent an emperor to Mexico City who was later hanged and his wife fled and lived out her life in mental illness in Europe.

So thru land deals and conquest the USA took all the territory from the Atlantic to the Pacific to fulfill our "Manifest Destiny'. We got all the good parts. Most of what is left in Mexico is very rugged land and life is difficult there.

Ok, so what you are saying is that every country should give back the lands they won in war 100's of years ago or purchased from other countries that won land through a war of some sort?

If that happened I don't think there would be any of today's countries around. So what if we purchased land cheap, they where willing to sell it cheap and we took it over. Maybe we should give Alaska back to the Russians because we bought it for pennies on the acre, made more then enough money off of it in gold and oil to pay for it 10 time over.

Maybe we should just give Mexico California and New Mexico and be done with it. Also while we are at it give the rest of the US back to the Native Americans, and ship the rest of us back to Europe and whatever other country our ancestors came from.

Possession is nine points of the law. Which is why we shouldn't give up what we have. We'd never get it back, as if giving up our children's and grandchildren's birthright makes any sense to begin with.

Preach to the dead. They got the land. None of us here on this board had anything to do with settling the boundaries of the present US.

Someone here in their infinite wisdom suggested we annex Mexico for some ridiculous reason. I only reminded everyone we already did that 100 years or so ago, OK?
