I stopped into Weymouth Honda in Weymouth Massachusetts yesterday to see if they had a set of NGK spark plugs(DCPR8E) in stock.
Easy enough I though until the grumpyassed parts guy decided to go on a rampage about how they will never stock Harley parts and how I should go else where...blah,blah,blah. A simple no we don't have 'em would have sufficed I thought rolleyes.
Please folks, by all means, avoid this dump for all this is worth.

I'd have shouted back loud enough for the manager & any customers to hear that I don't just have the one bike & I won't be setting foot in his establishment again.

I actually did it once back in the 80s when a truck salesman sold the Cabover tractor I was buying to one of his buddies, I lost a contract because of it, but I later learned that one of the people that heard my tirade was a fleet buyer & it cost the dealer plenty.

I would have posted what I said to the guy but Blake would be pissed if I did...

...with the colorful language and all

since when are NGK plugs 'Harely only parts' ? what a tool.

btw, Seth, you can snag NGK plugs for the XB at Aprilia shops. some of the bikes use the 9EIX as a stock plug. EDIT: oops, you have an S1, sorry. well, FYI for others i guess ;)

I think most dealers just carry plugs for the specific brands they sell. Unless the plug that fit a Hummingbird special fit your Buell, why would they carry it?

Hmmm....seems the NGKs in my S1 are the same part number that I put in Goldwings every day at work...they don't stock parts for them???
We are a Honda only dealer, but if we can make a couple dollars selling you a part, we will be more than happy too. I have worked on almost every brand since I have been there...even a couple Buells.

I once needed an oil filter for my old interceptor.

The tool at the yam-suz-kaw dealer said "we don't have it, we don't sell honda parts" turns out dozens of models from those manufacturers use the same filter, but the guy was too lazy to look.
BTW...the guy is now the service manager at a very large dealer in socal...so look out!
