Char:

Bad news....first of all you go and pick a song that mentions John (A Love Supreme) Coltrane.

Next, you choose one written by the best friend or one of my riding buddies...

Not to worry, not your fault...the Irish are all crazy. I'll see him at 5:30pm today (his office is above the store we were standing in front of at Broadway and Prince)and I'll share your regards.

:)

If you could get me to meet the Prince of Ireland himself I would LUV YOU forever, Court........ ;)

This sums up my life:

'my daddy was a rich man, he wore a rich man's cloak, he gave me keys to his kingdom and a cup of gold'

'but I threw away the key, FOR THE FIRST TIME, I FEEL LOVE LOVE LOVE !!!!!'

I guess I am sappy today, people might suspect the love child theory applies to someone else on the badweb...

There's a foot and a half of fresh snow on the ground; the forecasters are predicting total accumulations of 18-30 inches. I shoveled the driveway twice already, and I'll be shoveling for a couple of hours tomorrow morning, so I can get to work. This Winter crap REALLY SUCKS!

OK, Crusty I'm still trying to figure this out. Do you enjoy winter or do you not enjoy winter?

Here in Minnesota we've actually had it pretty easy. It was freakin cold for awhile, but we don't have much snow. Maybe 8" at most on the ground. You folks on the east coast have been just hammered this year. Of course, you don't need me telling you that! Hang in there. Spring will come and all the snow will melt!

Here in Milwaukee I can see my lawn. It's brown, but usually it is buried this time of year. I think we are supposed to get in the upper 30's this week. May have to bust out the shorts...

We have to keep the windows open and crank on the A/C sometimes here...the apartment gets too hot...I think it's the heat bleeding in from others' leaky heat ducts.

Sucks to be in the cold though, aye?

"No snow here for a few days now "

What do you mean nothing's happening, no snow is happening. Keep chanting. Helps to solidify the chant if you run outside occaisionally in your briefs and socks. This will do two things, it will give the neighbors something to remember when the weather warms and they think about complaining about your bike's noise in the mornings, and it will get you ready for that skinny-dipping bike ride you have coming up. ;)

Of course, if you catch a cold then this message will self destruct and I'll claim someone hacked my login. :)

Good one Mike,

I can't go outside like that, the neighbors may want me.

Crusty, here is a WINTER SUCKS story for you. We have a small community called "Badger, Newfoundland" and this past weekend the river that runs near the town had a major ice jam. The water totally flooded the town, then the temperature dropped to -25 celsius and most of everything is now in a frozen tomb.

So, is the water under the ice in the streets still unfrozen? Could get interesting as the water under the ice drains off. Winter does have a sense of humor it seems.

Spring is coming soon, says so right on my calender on the wall.

Ended up with 12 inches in the low spots, up to a couple of ft drifts,...

Snow shoveling sucks....

even the weekend ice racing got cancelled as they closed down the local roads,..

but the ice is thick,.. temp's tomorrow around 40,.. I got the day off,.. it's on.

I don't know if it is solid all the way through. The way the guy in the picture is standing on the ice I would think its pretty thick.

I am glad is that the storm that hit the eastern seaboard is passing our island and heading out to sea.

We wound up getting 27 1/2" officially. The largest 24 hour accumulation on record. That's about 70 cm for you metric types. The good news is that it's supposed to start warming up. They're forecasting temps close to 50(F) by Saturday. I guess I'd better get the wife's Sportster back together pretty quick, before she misses out on a chance to ride.

Bluzm2: That picture is faked! Notice how the dots do not line up on the matrix of lights.

I tried to go for a ride today, but my Blast! wouldn't start! Roads have been cleared enough that I probably would have made it to work and back without hitting much snow. I'm willing, but the Blast! is probably being smarter than I am right now.

Newfie,

More photos ! That is really freakish...

It was a BALMY 43 degrees here yesterday... I was so thrilled I almost took my shirt off to go running through the backwoods in my Sorels through the snow.... SPRING IS COMING...

(supposed to get down to 10 degrees in a few days, though).

Spidey,
Don't be surprised, that sort of stuff always happens this time of year in the north woods. First sunny day or two and people start busting out from their cabin fever and running amuck all over the place. You should see what happens up in that area once the roads clear, wow is all I can say.

"Took your shirt off and running through the backwoods in your Sorels",

Spidey's Spider Sense is Tingling.

Now that would be a sight, even us Newfies aren't that nuts.

Actually its been mild here the past few days as well - over 0 degrees celsius if you call that balmy. Once it goes over 5 or so you will get people in T-Shirts.

As for photos I pulled them off some webistes that place is actually about 5 hrs from me and I am not going to take pictures.

It is freaky to have your possessions in a tomb of ice, I don't know how thick the ice was but if someone is standing on it then it must be pretty heavy.

Still Chanting "Snow Go Away, Snow Go Away"
