The third-party, fire & theft insurance in England for my 04 Firebolt costs £134 ($240) pa. IIRC the fully comp quote was £300+

I never, ever accept the renewal quote and always shop around. Mature (ahem) rider, IAM member, zero convictions, zero-risk neighbourhood, fitted every security device known to mankind, huge excess, limited mileage - I'll do anything I can to reduce the premium. I hate buying insurance.

I'm a mature rider, clean record, and I pay a little over $200 a year for a *bunch* of public liability and uninsured motorist coverage and a little bit of comprehensive (against vandalism and theft).

I spend little to nothing on collision coverage because I'm not likely to the cause of an accident.

Many people can reduce their premiums if they look at what they are paying for in a typical "as offered" package and considering what coverages could be adjusted.

If your life and style is that you park only in orderly places, and ride in an conservative manner, look into things like dropping collision, raising the deductibles, and increasing uninsured motorist coverage.

About €400 for a '99 M2 fully comp in France. I confess I am an old git though .

(that's about $500 for those of you who haven't gone metric)

About $1600 a year for a XB9S, perfect driving record, 1 claim, multi-line discount (car and house), and screwed because I live in Delaware (adds at least $400 a year). Forgot to mention that I am 32 years old and the bike isn't classified as a "sport bike". A ZX636R was almost double.
