Winter Sucks,... but when your given lemons you should try to make lemonade.

I'm going ice riding this weekend,.. a bunch of dirt bikes with cold-cutter screws on a local lake,.. got a little flat track set up.

note to self: bring bandages

OK,

Those who are warm, lack of snow and sunshine graced please piss off and leave us alone to wallow in our miserable, snow covered, barren, isolated on a rock in the middle of the Cold, Cold, Cold North Atlantic Ocean EXISTANCE.

30cm last Saturday, 40cm on Tuesday and 20cm or so forecast for Sunday.

WINTER REALLY SUCKS (AND I DIDN'T REALLY MEAN YOU ALL TO PISS OFF JUST I AM IN A REAL PISSY MOOD AND THIS IS THE CURSE PAGE)

On the up side, I can't wait till August.

Newfie,
I feel your pain. Cold sucks.
I have to post this one here as, well, umm, the picture speaks for itself.
Me thinks someone got in trouble over this one.

BTW, this is a town located about 40 miles from me. Picture was taken earlier this week.

Brad

Damn Cold!

Brad,

Another nice photo.

I am not too worried about the 'Fruits and Nuts' who are bragging on the West Coast... when the global warming kicks in they and those in Florida will be forced into riding their bikes in 6 feet of salt water.

Yo Aussie,

When can we come and vist ? And how much would it cost to fly from Chicago ?

CJM,

Maybe we should make a detour to Piqua, Ohio this summer, WHEREVER THE FUCK THAT IS !?!?!
Send you some e-mail, life is getting a bit STRANGE lately.

Myself,

I LOVE WINTER. It is having my snot freeze inside my nose on the way to get in the car that I don't really like...

My God accounting, I imagine a skinny little geeky fella with a pocket protector and large horned rimmed glasses.

CJ, it could be worse, you could be stuck on a rock in the middle of the Cold, Cold North Atlantic accounting.

I bet you have the cleanest Blast in Wisconsin though - Accountants tend to be real neat and tidy people.

Exactly How Many Kilometers for your adventure?

I want the longest distance travelled and if I am short I will have to leave one day earlier just to lap Lake Ontario.

Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me ?

Hey, at least I am on the "near side" of 50, as opposed to Mr. Buell who is far beyond. I keep a picture of Erik and I over my desk...when we were both in our 30's with the "Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now" Guinn quote. You don't evern remember which band that was, do you?

Right you are. . . AGAIN, as Aaron pointed out on the Turtle's "It Ain't Me" it was the legendary Bob Dylan who penned "My Back Pages"...
(note that The Byrds loose the 3rd and 4th verse and shift some lyrics around to get to an acceptable AM airplay time. Well until American Pie and Hey Jude came along and screwed that up. Finally, DJ's were able to have enough time to go to the bathroom. I gotta go....Eight Miles High just came on and I have to drum on the desk....

Crimson flames tied through my ears
Rollin' high and mighty traps
Pounced with fire on flaming roads
Using ideas as my maps
"We'll meet on edges, soon," said I
Proud 'neath heated brow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth
"Rip down all hate," I screamed
Lies that life is black and white
Spoke from my skull. I dreamed
Romantic facts of musketeers
Foundationed deep, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

Girls' faces formed the forward path
From phony jealousy
To memorizing politics
Of ancient history
Flung down by corpse evangelists
Unthought of, though, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

A self-ordained professor's tongue
Too serious to fool
Spouted out that liberty
Is just equality in school
"Equality," I spoke the word
As if a wedding vow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

In a soldier's stance, I aimed my hand
At the mongrel dogs who teach
Fearing not that I'd become my enemy
In the instant that I preach
My pathway led by confusion boats
Mutiny from stern to bow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats
Too noble to neglect
Deceived me into thinking
I had something to protect
Good and bad, I define these terms
Quite clear, no doubt, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

Court - just so happened I was listening to The Byrds when I wrote that. Is it a bad thing when all your music is classical, jazz and pre-1985?

with any luck, Courtly, you'll get to see the far side of 50, and learn it's pretty darned coool . . . . (wait'll you get all those requestes for carb-cleaning!)

ah, the byrds . . . .. . back when David Crosby could still remember his name, and walk on stage unassisted!

Court,

"You know I luv 'ya, don't be stupid!!!"

Now who wrote that ? No help from Dyna... but he wants to be her when he grows up...

And one other favorite quote:

"Well, the God I believe in isn't short of CAASH, mister..."

Written by the man closest to a love god there is.

Official Bitch...
Holy Fucking Cow Shit, Buellers, I would rather be home in bed than at work today... MY COMPUTER IS TRYING TO KILL ME... and today I think it is winning!!!
