PLus Jersery has one of the worst insurnace payout,. If your in a wreck in Jersery don't think you'll get a fat check $$$. Just another reason why I won't live in a Yankee state. The laws are just crazy. Plus nearly every damn road is a toll road. Come on down to Georgia. |

Thats total BS! Man you should fire your insurance agency and hire a new one! Call em and tell them that too. It might make you feel better. That is total BS if you really think about it the dog protects the property....Meaning its less likely someone will messes with your house....The less likely you will be filing a claim...I KNOW THAT DEFINETLY DOESNT REGISTER IN THEYRE BRAIN HOUSING GROUP. That why I say fire the and hire a new one. |

I will live the rest of my life and NEVER go to Georgia again. I almost got killed there by two backwoods LEO's amusing themselves and their Rotweillers. SOB's had their dogs drag me out of my sleeping bag and tossed me around like a playtoy. I killed one dog in the struggle and hurt the other badly. I ran off into the woods and hid while they looked for me with their rifles............. Lucky to be alive. |

Skyguy, they where just doing some hunting. When we came back from Daytona we stopped for gas somewhere on the outskirts of Atlanta, this gas station was the beat for 3 different crusiers. They came up to us and said get your gas and get the hell out of here. A suttle way of saying five white guys with a trailer full of motorcycles did not belong at this gas station. All the other cars there where on 24 inch rims and all pimped out. Just say that will wake you up around 2 in the morning. I think most insurance companies would rather have someone break into your house then to have a dog guarding it, to many lawsuits these days about dogs bitting people. Get a new insurance company but you will probably run into the same problem. |

JT, with the recent run in the news about elevators here in Florida needing serious work, I have a feeling places are hiring right now for that. Than, how long ago was that in GA? I'm going to be at Ft. Gordon for AIT training and that bothers me a tad. |

Before you do that you should read the policy wording especially the sections with respect to inspections and/or surveys of the property. A lot of times once you enter into a contract with an insurer they do have certain rights. After all they are taking on your liability and anything that your responsible for, this gives them the right to conduct inspections and make recommendations with respect to controlling losses. Also if they feel they need more premium for higher risks then they will charge you for it. The simpliest way out of this is to call other brokers in your area and get some feedback on their markets stand on dogs. Make sure you disclose all pertinant information as well such as pools, trampolines and other recreational equipment. Keep the threats out of it and a cool head, in the end you will be much better off. I'd like to know how all of a sudden a home inspection/survey turns into scaring and stalking kids, ever think that maybe he knocked on the door and never got an answer. Bottom line is that if you don't like the insurer then find a new one, there are lots out there to choose from and they all have different rules and regulations. |

Why did he run off? Why didn't he identify himself? If he was there for a legitimate reason he should have identified himself when the kids came out. His running off is where the stalking talk came from. The scared kids is where the scaring talk came from. (Message edited by mikej on April 17, 2006) |

Well obviously that guy went about it the wrong way. Did the broker/insurer give a reason why? As a broker I get photos of commercial properties all the time when the owners are not there, if they are not there, always identify yourself to the occupant, leave a business card and go about your business. Still the best answer is to find a new broker/insurer. |

I'm not putting this on the company...the ass that showed up needs a attitude adjustment....in either case, the damage has been done, he wrote "aggressive dog" it's over. the company has no choice..one thing i've learned in life is...what goes around comes around. JT |

Hey, you could always call those obnoxious "Shame On You" news people. ;P Seriously, though, in Jersey at least, some insurance companies won't even insure you at all if you have certain breeds deemed statistically "dangerous". They don't even inspect - you check off that you have a dog on the app, and it's over. Quite ridiculous. If people would just return to settling differences like civilized people instead of involving lawyers, we'd all have happier lives. |
