I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 truck with a Leer Cap. I've decided to remove the shell, at least for the summer, in order to be able to load the Uly up and make same road trips is questionable weather. Looking for any recommendations for ramps. I have also seen some hitch mounted carriers but they just don't look stable enough to me. The truck is 4WD and quite high up. Anyway - appreciate any input including sources because of course I want to make this all happen by Saturday morning. Thanks

also like to hear about any experience with those very compact motorcycle only trailers - basically a rail on wheels. I have a 5 x 9 flat bed trailer but it's just too much of a hassle

I got a set that are really nice from home depot.
They are aluminum and connect to form one wide ramp or detatch for two narrow ramps.

They also came with straps so they don't pop off the back of the truck.

I think they are branded by reece and were on the order of $150.
They paid for themselves already!
My truck is somewhat high up too. It is a TOYota 4X4.

I'm interested in trailers too.
I want to offload the pickup and get a smaller commuter car.

Kendon makes a very nice fold up trailer. I share ownership of one with a buddy of mine.

I can also recommend Ramp Master ramps. I have one of their 10' 3 piece ramp sets. I used them to get my bikes up and down a 5' loading dock. A bit hairy dangling over the abyss, but the ramps are solid and fold up nicely for storage. They're a bit pricey, but you only need to drop a bike off a 2x8 once to justify the price ... : )

No matter what trailer you decide on, it's a good idea to get one with the torsion bar suspension and full size wheels.

One of those single trailers would be perfect.

After spending a good part of the day researching this - I'm disgusted. Two years ago I bought a 5 x 9 utility trailer, fully galvanized (dipped) with hardwood floor, full sized tires, suspension, lights, jack, full size spare, permanent metal gate/ramp, pressure-treated stake sides - for under $1000. It is made by Venture who are primarily known for their boat trailers.
It's a great trailer but I wanted something a little easier to whip around with.
Silly idiot that I am - I figured I could pick up a small steel monorail style MC trailer for a few hundred dollars. I am amazed to see lesser trailers costing hundreds of dollars more. I hate to keep singing the "2 kids in college" song but I guess I'll suck up the inconvenience and maybe put the $ saved towards a performance exhaust. Thanks again for the input

I just picked up a Kendon 2 place last Sat, took it home and loaded 2 Ulys on it.Great trailer, pulls good and never knew it was there. And it stands up in the garage.
