Got an email that said this was actually done without CG, I doubt it....

The thing that got me was the tires accelerating UP,
check it out... it is cool.

I'm not saying it wasn't done without CG, but tires could give the impression they could roll uphill if they were weighted in an area near the tread. The wheel/tire would have to be very light to begin with, though.

I had heard that it was done (no CG) but that it took 200+ tries/takes....I agree with DJ, watch them...it looks like they were weighted and teh weight was just moving down...

Still cool though

that was all real. i read an article about how they did most of it. the set-up was so sensitive that it took many many tries. it was also all done as one scene, no splicing. even the air temp. in the room would affect parts of it. the tires were weighted just off center near the top. the article also talked about the expense of the equipment they used to precisely arrive at balancing points for some of the peices. all the parts are from that model car. it was a while ago i read the article, it was pretty sweet.

This was all real - no CG at all.

It actually took 606 takes...talk about painstaking since they had to reset everything up after each take.

The tires were weighted...it was carefully calculated to give just the right amount of push to the next tire, etc...
