Broken ribs and the associated connective tissues take for freaking ever to heal up and quit hurting. Whatever you do don't sneeze or your feet will spit your toenails off as the pain leaves your body.

A bad PLF wadded up my right side back in the day and I was deadlined for 4 months. It sucks,,,,take care of yourself.

yes- modern-day hershey-bar canopies provide for good PLFs, as do aquacasts, LALOs,etc.

Let's see, how does it go?

Toes-knees-nose? No, that hurt a little.

Maybe I'll get it right next time...

I guess the joke is obscure. For those that wonder, a proper PLF involves landing in a sequence something like the balls of the feet, the side of the calf, the side of the thigh, the buttocks, then finishing up on the upper back.

The toes-knees-nose thing was one of the more painful, non standard, ways to return to earth.

I was not a parachutist, not once, ever. But you could not be around it without learning something about it.

Jack, Not obscure at all, but a very small audience.

Bomber, Most of mine were OK, but I've had some bad ones too. Big people don't fare as well as the 5'7' 160 LB test rider types.

Tramp, LALO'd twice with some sterile crazies I didn't dig it.

HALO is all about the wood development, oh yea ; )
