Jim, that looks like the log cabin up on St. Helens that Erik and a hundred or so of his Hooligan buddies had lunch during Blue Groove/Northwest, yes? i'm sure glad there was no snow to contend with that day! and the guy on the bike is not hard-core, he's MENTAL!!! jeans and tennies riding around in the snow? sounds like something I'D do... Ferris, That is the cabin up at the Marble Mountain snow park that we all had lunch at for Blue Grove/Northwest. Not much snow to speak of at all up there. We had a hard time trying to find snow for the kids to go sleding on. We did manage though. Also managed to find a couple of killer roads that will be attacked with the S3 when the weather warms up! The dude was really cold but, from the conversation I had with hime he was still having a great time! I also made sure I filled him in on the ride in July too. |

Hey Ferris last year Bob made me a pair of hot shoes and gave them to me while in Packwood. I guess I was the only one sober and stupid enough to put them on. They only have a couple of miles worth of use and are good for a couple more. The most fitting end to our ride Saturday would be you taking them out for a spin after dark. What do you say? Don't worry I had them up to 70mph and they run straight throwing two glorious streams of fire. If that doesn't seem challenging enough I'll dig up my flip flops with smashed beer cans taped to the bottoms that I retired from the year before. Mike. |

Ferris they will work no matter boot size as long as you are not bigger than an 11 1/2. See above photo, Bob was giving his work a thumbs up for his good build job I on the other hand was glad to be unhurt. Heck Ferris I saw you kick a rock out of the middle of the road before so this should be easy. I'm sure after five years the swelling should be down so they should fit nicely. Mike PS- Can you please bring DUCATIBOY with you on your way to SPLASH. He has forgotten us in the Rain Forest. |

(cross-posted from North West Storm Fronts) Is SPLASH starting at Laguna this year or is SACBORG changing the ride? --Gootch yo Gootch, it's kinda like this : the WSB races at Laguna Seca are July 11-13. i'm organizing a sport-tour, called "Four Play", that'll leave Monterey, CA on Monday, July 14 at 0800. this rolling roost-'n-romp will take four days ripping it's way up the coast, on every twisty, bad-assed road we can find, to arrive in Portland, OR Thursday night July 17. the SPLASH festivities will begin the following morning (Friday) at Horseshoe Lake Park in Woodland, WA with an all-day party/BBQ/water-skiing/wet-thong contest (just kidding about the last item...maybe.....), and the SPLASH ride will launch for Mount St. Helens early Saturday morning, just as it has every other year. Vik and the troops on SacBORG asked awhile back if they could make Four Play their "official" SacBORG ride this year, which i thought was a bitchin' idea. there'll be a bunch of Hooligans partying at Laguna all weekend, as you might imagine, and it's already looking like we'll have a pretty comprehensive collection of moto-misfits doing the Four Play thing up the west coast, culminating with the SPLASH extravaganza. the Four Play itinerary (subject to ongoing revision), pencils out like this: --Monday 7/14 we're overnighting on the coast in Caspar, CA (near Fort Bragg) and doing an informal bike-show/noise contest for a downed brother by the name of Dana; free camping on-site, donations for Dana's medical expenses appreciated but not required. California's legendary Highway 1 will be featured this day. --Tuesday 7/15 we'll overnight at Paul's place (aka Snail) on the coast in Ophir, OR; free lodging has been offered on-site (forested mountain-top oasis with stunning ocean view) by Paul and his lovely wife Jean. Highways 1, 101, 36, 3, 299, and 101 will be Tuesday's offerings. --Wednesday 7/16 we'll be staying overnight somewhere near McKenzie Bridge, OR; location to be determined. Paul is already hard at work mapping out a selection of his favorite local twisties, aiming us in the general direction of Crater Lake, OR and the Aufderheide (GREAT road) north of Oakridge. --Thursday 7/17 we'll be staying the night at Jim and Shel Corso's place in Portland; free lodging, plenty of room, lots o' micro-brew, and a hot-tub big enough to get in trouble in. not sure yet of Thursday's exact route, but it'll be a worthy dose of everything the Oregon Cascades have to offer to the adventurous motorcyclist. Paul is bringing a handful of his homies from the 'hood along, and after SPLASH they'll be continuing on northward into BC; perhaps you guys could tag-team into Canada. to summarize, what we've got here are really three events -- WSB, Four Play, and SPLASH -- kinda morphing into a righteous excuse to ask the boss for a full two weeks off in July! these are our brains. these are our brains on bikes. any questions??? ride to scheme, FB |
