Actually a few years ago the used Harley shop in Waukesha (VintageCycles I think) had a little hopped up bar jumper FX in there that I liked. Guy lived somewhere north of here towards FondDuLac or Horicon someplace. The manager said the bike would have been too fast for me, I just looked at him with one of those "yahokaysure" looks and took a sit on it for a bit. Fit good. Must have been my slacks and dress shoes that threw the shop manager off.  I might have to go see if I can track down the bike owner. Seems his back went out and he started playing with cars instead. 'Course if someone knows of a basketcase sitting in a couple of boxes in the corner of some basement .... |

Roger that Dyna -- most everyone hates their bike when it's broke. Start thinkin' Beemer or 'I need a second' or ....
As for a HOG / BRAG merger, I could only think there'd be more chances of volunteers (like hyper José) to do the duties, though I doubt I'd be involved either.

Actually thats how a lot of the Brag events get started. A few guys sitting around BS'ing about what to do & one thing leads to another. Last year Lurch started the ball rolling on a meet in the middle deal with a few track days thrown in near his place in Omaha. Once we all got a few details ironed out leslie put it in Fuell & actually made it a Brag event. This has happened several other times as well.
A lot of times I think the riders & enthusiasts can come up & plan an event better than some big corporation can. The deal with guys coming out in august for Buells 20th is not being sponsored by Buell nor was it started by Buell. A couple guys here with an idea & just letting it take root & grow from there.
And your right, Jose is hyper but he did a fine job last year at the Gap meet. |

salary info
upper thirties to mid forties depending on the amount of experience a person would have and how badly hd wants you. work your butt off too. quite a fun job in a lot of ways. |

Actually according to the Department of Defense 2001 Annual Report, the Air Force has approximately 3004 fixed wing aircraft and the Navy has about 981. That's not counting trainers, helicopters, UAVs, missiles, storage, and any other platforms.

My idea was to do away with the Army and the Air Force. The Navy can keep the Marines to do Army stuff, and they already have the Naval Air Force. It might take a while to make enough Navy planes to replace the Air Force planes, since just adding a tailhook to an Air Force plane would just result in lots of tailhooks on the flight decks of various carriers, and lots of pieces of airplanes in the ocean...

Ft. Washington's HOG chapter is at around 1000 members, typically they get about 100 to show up to monthly meetings, and maybe 10-20 people are consistent volunteers and actually get things done.
Ft. Washington's DCBRAG club is at around 45 members, typically we get about 7 to show up to monthly meetings, and maybe 1-2 people are consistent volunteers and actually get things done.
Who's the dealer going to listen to? |

The thanks was to the anony salary report, Dave snuck that other post in when I wasn't looking.
But, you're right, it is nice to know what's available when one has to make short-notice adjustments in local or livelyhood. |

I just go over the curb. Pedestrians are easier to move out of the way than a traffic jam in stressfull times.  Honk the horn, hit the high beams, and they step right aside they do.  |

Just my luck, I'd have to do a curb hop one day and it would be at a motorcycle show and everyone would be on bikes, including me.
I remember many years ago I knew a guy in the Torrance area of southern California who was looking to build a beast-rig capable of hopping curbs at 75mph and was wondering how big his tires would have to be in order to avoid pinch flats on the sidewalls. We all (on a Jeep/4X4 list) told him it would be cheaper to just relocate to a neighborhood where he didn't have to worry about such issues. There's a story in there somewhere, and it somehow relates to dealership contacts. (I think anyways.) |
