Voltage, I used to be a hardcore mountain biker but a shoulder injury ruined the sport for me. I still have (until it sells) one of the finest mountain bikes ever built though!

I strive for the curious...
sorry for the delay, I was wandering around in the knowledge vault...
On a cycling site, (pronounced psychoing) there is a thread of similar content...seems popular there. Matter of fact, the wife and I were looking at a new mountain bikes today...This GT i-Drive 4 looked pretty good to me...the Specialized is getting long in the tooth...or is it me?

Bugman. I resemble an insect when I am wearing goggles, leathers, hairy, smelly, and generally uncouth. I also have the personality of an educated gnat. I don't get right in your face, but you always know I am there.

Combination of factors
1. The Uly is "Midnight" black,
2. I get out of work at 11 pm and like to go riding downtown (by the Monuments in Washington DC) before I go home, and
3. I've always loved the Allman Brothers song......ain't gonna let 'em catch me, no.....ain't gonna let then catch the midnight rider...."

i grew up a vintage VW fanatic, cruising around in a friends blacked out, slammed '60 Beetle, got my own '73, partially restored it (made to look like a '68), slammed it, painted it Ford Grabber Blue then sold it.. . and now, 15 years later, i fiddle with a '66 Porsche.. . but whats it all mean?

"TYPE 1 (aka T1, TI)
The first production model of the Volkswagen "sedan" was built in 1945 and since it was based on Porsche's original prototype, it was designated as a "Type 1" vehicle. Production models that resulted from modification and changes to the original concept of Prototype 1 were also classed as "Type 1" vehicles, and model/version numbers were added to their type designations to distinguish them.

Back in the early 70's two bros and I had BMW /5s with low bars, Dunstall megs, and 1/4 fairings. We also spent all our non-mc time and energy pursuing various avenues of better living through chemistry and listening to the most bizarre stuff imaginable.A particular favorite was the great comedy troupe Firesign Theatre, one of their albums was entitled "We're All Bozos On This Bus".

The three of us were known around midtown Memphis as "Hells Bozos".
Still a Bozo...Faster than ever 'cuz I've got my Buell-Slower than I'd like 'cuz of the years I'm packin' in my saddlebags.

SADDLEBAGS!!! Geez...Guess that proves my point!

I used ol dog because

I am a little older than most sport bike riders ( on the calender )
I like to kid my senior friends that you can't teach an old dog new tricks because they know them all

I have worked with my hands, as a tool maker // machinist then a wood treating plant controls designer // tech most of my adult life

just an OL working class DOG

Blake is my name and I'm lacking in creative imagination. Plenty folks here and elsewhere have offered up their ideas on what other names might work for me. The best so far was "racist"; he was referring to my enthusiasm for the track, wasn't he, you know like "shootist" for a gun enthusiast, right?

Smitty808 = Bob Smith.
All of my friends used to have pagers, we all had a 3 digit code to put after the number you called from so they would know who was calling.
Mine was 808, 'cause it looks like BOB
