For all yew dam' yankees freezing yo' ahhsses off and since mah Baja loop was cancelled because of a trial setting....just thought ya'll might like to plan a trip to the Yucatan peninsula. Seems there's a ferry service now from Tampa to Progresso....36 hours each way complete with casino's an' a hot tub/sun/observation deck. Throw in a week in between of riding the M2 beater over to Cancun & Cozumel...explore the off beaten.....cheap beer, cheap lodgings, and cheap wome.....oooops. Thinking about late February/early March since its so dayumm cold here...59 and raining.

Anyone?

Your female friend planning on an extended stay on Isla Mujeres? Thinking about leaving last Friday in February or first or second Friday in March. Trying to avoid spring breakers. The ferry leaves at 5 p.m. each Friday arriving Sunday a.m. Trip back to Tampa leaves Mexico Sundays at 6 p.m. arriving Tuesday 8 a.m.

Actually.....check the NYC crime stats. I've been disspointed; in the 5 years I've been here (and I don't think there's a correlation) NYC has been about the lowest in per/C crime for any city in the US over 1M population.

As visitors will attest, walking in NYC (reasonable care required is no different than Topeka, KS <<where I was shot 3 times) or Milwaukee, WI) in the evening is not problem.

At least, I hope not....I'm headed for a walking tour if midtown. Anyone need any pics?
