What ??? I may go to the HD 100th, although I am not too partial to big fat ole' hairy oafs who are drinking while riding.

ie. I do not want some stupid bastard coming down a one way the wrong way in the middle of the night and taking my lovely BLONDE head off.

I am, however, partial to bribes, Spidey...However, your are distracting me from my highly entertaining reading on inferential statistics... Gotta go work !

Charlotte,
Understood, and sorry to hear that. There's always tomorrow. And sometimes that old wind does blow.

Not everyone at the 100th will be downtown, and not all of them will be going the wrong way down the street. But some of them will, which is why it's good to have alternative routes. I'm fairly certain there will be any number of Buell riders in various attendance, regardless of the limited preview of information coming from E.T. or Juneau Avenue. Two summers ago I abandoned a group of Buellers as: 1)I wasn't actually part of their specific group but just happened to be in the same place at the same time heading in the same general direction as they were; 2)the group leaders choose to come to a dead stop on a freeway onramp merging to I-94 where westbound traffic from the lakefront was accelerating and everyone was jockeying between merging left two lanes to head either north or south on I-43 and everyone else was jockeying to merge right two lanes to head westward on I-94 at which point I just dodged and weaved and got out of town. One regroups on the surface streets, or in a parking lot, not on the freeway unless it's by riding the right lane at traffic speed to allow others to catch up. One should always inform the group members of the general direction to head, and of the general route to follow should they take a wrong turn. One should never stop in the middle of an onramp where traffic is usually finishing up a cloverleaf onramp at 45mph trying to hit 65mph and merging with traffic doing 45-75mph at night.

Uh, what was the question? Oh yeah, not to worry, there will be Buell riders in town during the 100th.

What's a 6-8 hour ride between friends. ;)

You may be gone, but "we" won't.

Let's see, out west they've got a SPLASH ride/run (SPort LAp around Saint Helens), why not start a SLAM ride/run (Sport Lap Around lake Michigan)?

Hey hey !

You both could be onto something there, because I was looking at the maps yesterday of what it would take to do a lap around Lake Superior. It is roughly 1200 miles... and the great scenery starts right out my front door.

1200mi is a big run, talk about your iron butt, the most I have done in one day is about 1500km. At the end of the day I really did not want to sit on the bike.

But I just love riding for 10-12 hrs a day, I can't wait till July.

Did I mention the S1 was the GREATEST bike ever built

WINTER SUCKS

You all might be onto something with the SLAM thing....seriously. I think alot of the midwesterners would think real hard about something like that! I would! Not too far away(one days riding) and definitely not a normal vacation destination...hahaha. Count me in.

10-12 hrs is not too bad. Considering you have to stop every 150km or so to fuel up. Take a 10-15 min break every time you stop for fuel. Besides I just love the freedom the bike gives you. I got a Corbin Gunfighter Seat (I think thats what it is) and its way ahead over the bananna thing of a seat that also came with the bike. The Corbin was on the bike while it was on the showroom floor and I got it for no additional charge.

I think you should all do a Newfie Tour. I can meet you at the other side of the island and everyone make a run for the east coast 10-12 hr ride once on the island. Imagine a bunch of Buells being at the farthest point east in North America. Next stop is Rocketland - England. Would make one hell of an advenutre!!!!!!!

Weather Update - Started to rain yesterday and continuing today, temp is around 40 and the fog is as thick as pea soup.

So now the snow has turned to slushy, dirty & make your car ugly stuff, but makes for great snowmen & snowballs.

THIS WINTER IS STARTING TO REALLY SUCK

"Next stop is Rocketland - England. "

I think there's a couple of stops between you and there. In fact I think there might be a Buell or two on either Greenland or Iceland if I'm not mistaken.

Newfie,

Now I am starting to truly pity you !!! Rain on top of snow is the pits. I almost broke my ass last year when it rained over an inch on top of a foot of snow. I also lodged our work truck into an ice bank because I assumed the truck was denser than the 'snow bank'. Eeeeeeeek !!! I figured if I ran it 45 mph into the snow bank to get out of the back woods, surely I would escape any peril. WRONG AGAIN !!!

Now, as far as a Great Lakes Tour... I think this thing will be in order... this summer for sure if people want to ride for a week or so up around the UP, Canada and maybe even Toronto... Newfie might get his wish...I would however be camping, not burning up all my money on Hotels, so you might want to stay downwind of me !!!

I, for one, am not into the Iron Butt thing, because for me it would be an Iron C*&^ thing, get my drift? ;) ;) ;) (sorry Blake, I just could not resist) Now I am not much into feeling the burn when I need to urinate. Been there while bicycling through Europe and it is not my idea of a good time.

Gotta go run around in the snow today and punch some holes in the ice. Wheeeee !

"Been there while bicycling through Europe "
And yet another aspect is revealed. :)

Watch out for that ice up there, two people I know have fallen in this year so far, one down here and one up near you, both on rivers. One dropped a dirt bike with ice spikes through the ice in waist deep water. The other was ice fishing and walked across a river up near Prentice someplace and plunked through up to his neck.

Gotta watch out for those springs percolating up under the ice as well, gets thin in spots. But you probably know all about that stuff so I'll stop acting like OldUncleMike. ;)

Yeah Mike,

I think it is safe to say we have over 6 inches of ice on all of the lakes, besides, maybe I will send a 'Test Redneck' out on the ice with a rope tied to his waist to put holes in the ice before us.

Bye,
Char

Why do I have this image in my head of Charlotte standing on the shoreline with a fishing rod in her hands and the other end of the line tied to the redneck holedriller's beltloop as she jokes with a passerby that she's just doing a little winter Muskie fishin' and hopes she has the right bait.

OK Coffee on the screen this time.

At least you can make me laugh during this shitty weather.

Mike, I was talking line of sight, if I consider Greenland & Iceland those places are far far up north, I think.

My father in law used to do a lot of ice fishing up this way and it got to the point where his buddy used to tie a rope around himself in case he fell in. It was so funny because before he started bringing the rope he would always end up going through.

OK,

Quick lunch break and I go back out. Even better than the Redneck idea is the new hire, an ENGINEER ! I didn't even put a rope around him... We drilled one hole in a stream and the ice was TWO FEET thick. So, Mike, don't worry... We also drove the Ranger and a 3/4 ton pickup out onto one of the lakes NO PROBLEM !!!

Bomber,

This one is for you... ... we don't want to give Spidey any idea about what I REALLY look like, in case we show up in the same crowd together when the Spring thaw comes!

Hey, if the rain freezes the snow just right you can plow the driveway just by lifting up one corner and sliding the whole pile out of the way. Slide it over in front of the neighbor's place, you said they don't like you anyway.
