Sgthigg/Jason- thanks for the agreement. The majority of people that think they are bad dogs are the typical person that knows nothing of the breed and has done no research. The majority of the owners also know nothing of the breed and again have done no research. It takes away from their roots and the type of dog that they are actually supposed to be. Can you tell I am a strong advocate for Rotties. Ok I will shut up now.

a pair of rescued Greyhounds to tear all the grass from my backyard- then take over my couch to "recover"!
Great fun to watch them chase each other around at speed, though.

Originally yes but the RE joints and arms couldnt hold up to the rocks.
I replaced all of the arms with Clayton Hard Arms [notice they are square] and triangulated the upper rear with the Clayton 4 link. No more rear trac bar. I retained the RE T-Case skid because it is a good design. I dont have coils anymore either. That bad boy is AiROCKed. So it's quite the Hybrid and gets abused regularly.

We now have a Doxie!
Those little farts are the funniest dogs I've ever been around.
They have enough personality for 3 dogs.
Smart as a whip too, just a little over a year old.
I call him the 10 lb terrorist clown.
His name is Dontarius, we just call him Donnie.
My daughter decide to give him the longest name she could think of as he was such a short dog.
We used to have golden retrievers (one for 14 1/2 years, the other for 11 1/2).
A very big change, I cannot believe how much energy this little turd has.
Stuborn as hell though...

I'll post a picture tomorrow tonight.

Brad

It takes away from their roots and the type of dog that they are actually supposed to be. Can you tell I am a strong advocate for Rotties

Rescue one from a shelter, where his prior life was living under a porch and being subjected to cigar burns, and little to no food
9 months of effort and training, and the dog would let anybody touch my wife with out his permision
He spent some time with our 4 year old cousin for a month while we were on vacation, and wouldnt allow her grandfather to ruff house with her anymore under his watch
Never bit anybody, but you understood when he gave you a little nudge to lay off
I sit miss him and its been 5 years since his passing, cant even bring myself to get another
Great dogs if your willing to invest the time, woorst part is, what do you say to a 9 year old when she says i still miss him, Sucks some days

As far as the Rottweiler comments, I am in complete agreement. They are one of the most trainable dogs and have the best temperament especially when it comes to kids. Unfortunately they are grouped with Pitbulls and are on black lists for most insurance companies. When I moved, all of a sudden my insurance company wanted to drop me because of the dog. In order to retain my insurance I had to get a Canine Good Citizen Certificate from AKC. This is a certificate that states your dog has passed 10 tests. Most dogs I know would fail as most people dont train their dogs past a simple sit, stay, no.
My dog is a big slobbering wussy who would show a robber her favorite toy and ask to be petted the whole time he was loading up his loot bag.
