Hey Spidey we had a good meeting between us at Ukes I'm quite sure that more ideas will pop up in little time.As far as the battletrax is concerned we need to find out if there will be a Wisconsin series going on like last year and when that will help determine if this could be done.If we in fact do have one on the 22nd and Brian can't do it and Dave would like to do it thats great to.

Spiderman,
No problem. It was just an idea.

Blake or Admin,
If you feel uncomfortable with any copyright issues regarding the image I posted, go ahead and delete it.

Actually, the copyright issue might not be that big of a deal, or could be (I'm not a lawyer).

From buell.com (for example):

There is absolutely no violation under the first provision, there is slight violation under the second (graphics were somewhat modified) and there is probably no violation under the third provision.

John K;

You are now Chairman of the poster committee. I'd ignore, for this event, intelletual property concerns. If they arise, Dave Gess and I can provide you all the pictures and graphics you need from our archives.

Plan on having 250-300 printed.

In addition, you will need to make arrangements for warehousing and having a system in place where folks attending the event can purchase the poster and have it mailed to them. I'd suggest you allow for "sign time" so that they can buy their poster, have it in their paws to get it autogrpahed and then return it to "poster control" to be wiating when they get home.

Think about this, it'll dictate where and how you sell them. You can do it!

Spidey - I've got a picture of what a 3-day itineray could look like with the B-Day party on Wednesday, guest speaker at our group dinner that night and some events for the next 2 days.

We'll talk.

Group dinner....hmmmmmmm....I feel this fits into my area of expertise.

What do you think is a fair "price point" for a dinner? $20.00? In the resort biz, that really equates to a $16.00 dinner plus tax and tip. I don't think I could go cheaper here at my place (20 minutes west of factory, not far from where the homecoming was in 2000). I may be able to find something cheaper elsewhere.

Court....1) do you have a guest speaker in mind maybe Erik? 2) do you really think we'd need 250 posters?

Bomber...I'm standing by and awaiting my marching orders.

All...I'm set and ready with the lodging logistics. I'll try to pair people as they become available. If you're offering facilities, let me know if its bed (how many), lawn (how big) or other. If you're looking for accommodations, let me know type (bed, lawn & other) and for how many.

In addition, I've started a "loan a bike" list as well. If you have a bike to loan or you're looking for a ride, please contact me.

Dennis dinner is great idea that may be the perfect thing to do for the 21st in the evening, seeing that we don't have anything going on that day yet.

OK, I'll start looking into posters this week. I think 250-300 is a reasonable number. People might want one even if they don't go to the actual event.

Q: 2) do you really think we'd need 250 posters?
A: I do not know. Your mission, at this point, is exploratory. Get price breaks for 100, 250, etc.

Q:People might want one even if they don't go to the actual event.
Snide comment: Duh?. . . ya think so? Dude, I have put the right guy in charge of this? :;)

Lake Bueller: Plan on $25 as a price point for the dinner. That'll cover some horse divers before. Check on room rates, assuming 40 rooms.

Q: Court....1) do you have a guest speaker in mind maybe Erik?
A: At this point, I am uncertain. My bet is he'd love to, well see. There are a couple other people, given the very nature of this thing, who MUST be included. There is no shortage of folks capable of doing a 20-30 minute moving "ad adsta per aspera" talk. I'm hoping for Erik with about 3 others sharing the dias.

This could be a really exciting event and a chance while B.R.A.G. is catching it's corporate breath, to allow owner's to voice their appreciation for the wonderful times and friendships we've shared.

Too cool !

Daves . . . I have a source for the timing equipment . . . cost should be very low to free . . . . .

also, since marty left Sauk, see if you can corner the Sauk Buell guy at the meeting your going to, if you can, and see if they'll play along . ..

Planning on some more rides in the Kettle Morraine area for Thursday . . . Sauk would be a good rally point, yes?

I will be calling around for lodging in Racine, WI.If I can find openings and anyone is interested it would put you about 35min from Hals and 20min from Uke's rather short ride to any of the events. Dyna if you could do the same for Kenosha that would be awesome.Lodging could be hard to find because of the 100th but we can at least try.

The dinner area is Dennis's expertise. He is the one who works at the abbey & is in charge of that kinda stuff.

I wouldnt think we would need the $$ upfront so long as we had a confirmed number of folks who would be attending. At this years Brag meet at the Dragon we paid at the dinner spot. Had a Buffet but I felt it was overpriced for what you got, went to the restaurant area & ordered 2 full dinner platters & an appetizer for the cost of 1 buffet. And then the resort was trying to screw us for another $50 for the room. They never said anything bfore hand about a room charge & they ended up dropping it. Bob outta St Louis & Jose were bitching at those people pretty good.

Bomber,
Even if we use own own equipment we still need to do it thru Reg. He owns the rights to BattleTrax, this is his livleyhood(sp). I actually will have the equipment, our BattleTrax #3 for next season is on Aug 17th. I will talk to Reg today and see what we can work out. I'm thinking Reg might come for the Ann. party but have not talked to him about it. I'll try today!

Dave what does it cost to get Reg's equipment never thought to ask are dealer.Because We need to find out anyways so we can see if we can absorb the cost as a club and some help from are dealer that way we can at least get closer to getting something set in stone for this event.Hell if the Wi. series dates haven't been set yet maybe that day could be one of them (22nd).

GreatLakes Dragaway I think for around $30.00 you can run as many times as you want. And wouldn't you know it but its Harley night there every Wednesday night that may be some interest to some after EastTroy or that evening of the 20th.

That's what I was thinking, GreatLakesDrags. There's a few bunches of people who head down there fairly regularly, plus the local team occaisionally takes their prototypes down there to work out some ideas.

Still too many variables to lock anything in for me, but I'll help out with what I can.

Heh heh, okay, let's see, turn south in Missoula and right at Lolo .... uh, you probably mean local ride routes. ;)

I'll start playing with some ideas and maps over the next few months. I think I'll come up with three routes:

1. Basic. For new riders or those with new bikes, and those with limited time who just want a basic direct route.
2. Intermediate. For those who want some turns and curves, but don't necessarily want a speeding ticket, ie: less than 20-over most of the way. ;)
3. Advanced. Best we've got on a semi-direct route. I wasn't there, and don't know nothin'. :)
