Hi Guys, I'm new to all this and have not ridden a motorcycle in 15 years. I love the looks of the Buell. One problem I'm 6'6" tall and 220 pounds. Am I too big for this style bike? Are there any models that can handle somebody my size? Thanks for the help in advance!

I think any tube frame could handle you fine. Some larger folks have voiced complaints about the fuel frames.

Just go out and try one out for size.

Choptop is 6'7" and about 240 lbs. He rides an S3T and an Aprilia Mille. Loves the hell out of both bikes.

I've noticed over the years that a lot of big guys ride Buells...

I am 6' and about 240lbs and fit the S1 just fine, my problem is I would like to shave about 25 from my own frame. Change the breather so your knee don't hit it.

And I thought this thread was gonna be about something else.

Ken,
But I bet he didn't do much riding!
Seriously though, I think Rick is right. The tube frames are plenty strong and the wheelbase (55 inches) is long enough for a big guy. He may have a knee clearance problem with the stock breadbox intake, but the aftermarket has LOTS of solutions. The XBRs have a 52 inch wheelbase and are probably too confined for a big man. Basicaly it's a 250GP sized bike with 1000cc 4-stroke engine shoehorned into it. A lot depends on how the individual is proportioned, though. If he's all torso with short legs, he might feel fine on an XBR. But if he's all leg, I don't see how.

Teofan,

Check out a "tube" Buell. I have an S3T and a friend of mine is 6'6" 245lbs and he fits it like a glove with the Corbin solo saddle!

Good deals on new ones in dealer stock too! You definitely won't be sorry!
