i've had only a few other bikes 79'cb750h, 81'ltd 750, 00'zrx1100, all of which really didn't have any major problems, the kawi ltd i had for 11 yrs only cost me 2 batteries and some filters, i bought my buell sept.2001 and it appears my luck has continued, i have yet to spend any money(due to failure)on my lucretia, awesome reliability, performance, and head turning! will put fresh pic on baddweb in spring, can't wait!(she needs a bath, the filthy animal)-anyway i'm a very happy buell owner, and if something ever does go wrong i got the service manual and the best motorcycle support group in the universe THE BAD WEATHER BIKERS!

I have been reading the boards over the last couple of months and have been a big buell fan for a number of years...the time has come for me to become a buell owner. I am looking at the XB9S "low"...any thing I should know? Ask the dealer?

Sean:

Yes, if you are anywhere near me, ask the dealer how soon the 6' of snow piled at the end of my drive will be gone.

The XB9S-L should be one heck of a bike. Tons of torque, wide usable powerband, one of the best handling street bikes available, more eye appeal than an MV Agusta or a 999 and proving to be (please read this following sentence carefully) One of the most reliable motorcycles ever manufacturered.

Shop, as you have likely read here, for "dealer relationships". Don't marry a dealer you can't love. Get the bike, there are TONS of good deals at present, and go have an absolute ball!

Dyna:

Kinda "non-topical", the guy asked about the XB.

However if you have a hankerin' to part with $30,000 for an EXCELLENT bike made to be ridden on the racetrack, I can hook you up with one of them through my contacts at Ducati, USA.

HINT: I've 2 pals with Senna's and 3 with MV Agustas. The MV's cost about $5K more, but have GREAT eye appeal.

Having now answered the "question that was never asked", we now return you to your regualalry scheduled XB9S discussion.

Court (P.S. - If I misunderstood you and YOU just BOUGHT a Senna, I wanna borrow your bike for BattleTrax)

Hey...thinking about it, that picture might be good to take to your dealer if you buy an XB9S.

Tell him:

I want something that encompasses MORE technology is better on the street is as quick in the twisties and I am willing to ignore the Buell's lower top end and getting toasted on the long straights to save the $15,000.00

Yeah...I kinda like the ring of that :)

Court,

I have been chanting "Snow Go Away" for the past two weeks and it seems to be working. If I keep it up I figure by the middle of April the snow will be melted.

No fresh snow in about 10 days now. That storm that hit you guys travelled up the Eastern Seaboard for a bit then headed out to sea right past the bottom of our wonderful Island.

Welcome to my world.

In keeping with this page, this past weekend I was in a Retailer in Nova Scotia and sat on a XB9s and it felt so small, almost like I was in the bike and not on it.

I would recommend one to anyone considering a new ride.

Newfie You are right on target I test rode one at my dealers. It felt like puting on your favorite jacket on a cold morning, you just wear it,if you think about doing it it does it. oneof the best feeling bikes I was ever on.

Court, the Senna edition pictured is an MV agusta. It costs $25,000 & is absolutley the most gorgeous bike I have ever seen, pics do not do it justice. The standard MV F4 strada is $18,800.

Motorcycle consumer news had a road test of the Senna a few months ago & absolutley raved about it. Handles like a dream, over 170mph on the top end, etc. Not bad for only being 750cc or so.

I have seriously considered buying the Senna, considering what I have tied up in my Harley that bike is a bargain. But right now the wife & I have decided the next bike is gonna be a BMW K1200 GT. It offers everything we are looking for in a comfortable long distance machine.

And the top of the line Harley model will run you over $28,000 but what does that bike or the Ago have to do with either the Senna or the Strada?

I dont think anyone is looking for most expensive bikes. Hell if thats the case lets go get a Benneli Tornado for $36,000 or one of those jet powered bikes Leno has for something like $100,000.

Wow what controversy...Honestly there are only three bikes that capture the beauty of a streetfighter like the buell...MVaugusta Brutale...which I havent seen on the road yet, a Speed triple, and the venrtable S4 monster...And the XB9S I think not only is best looking it is the best value for money.

I'd really forgotten how nice the S2 handles! Much heavier than the 900SS but turns in quickly with just a little effort and pulls right on up straight just the same.

Those vtwin vibes are the greatest!

Did I mention the sound?

Great bike, shakes with authority at the stop signs and gets big smiles all around. I can't believe I let it sit for so long! And those freakin' useful cases on the side! Wow, what have I been missing.

Ya, the Duc is a different steed all together. I'd never trade her. But dang, the S2 is unique and special.

Thank you Erik for such a sweet ride.

Despite yet more small breaks, leaks, and electrical gremlins I've experienced lately...hell yeah I love this thing!

I've got someone checking on a friend who may be parting a XR750 (supposedly he has a few in a shed)...now that'd be somethin'!!!
