...and Fast Freddie likes the use of that "problem" as an advantage.

That's strange; I believe the tesi was designed around the 851 engine! This one has an aircooled ss in it?

Jilles.

-who has known two GTS owners that got rid of the bike for oil-consumption!?-

Does the owner of this bike have the concept of Street Fighter down?

The Bimota Tessi based Vyrus pictured above is making a comeback for Bimota anytime soon given their recent new ownership.

Glad to hear that Bimota is making a comeback. . . seems we've spent a good deal of the last year being induced by the mags to lust over "coming to a dealer near you anyday now" while Buell has anted up and been bitch slapped.

I hope that here in the next year those who can't get the radical Honda, Yamaha, KTM 990, Fischers, etc off their mind have their dreams answered.

The biggest dissappointment, in terms of an overhyped build up, may be the KTM990. As a former KTM owner, I'm all over the concept even if the new bodywork doesn't do it for me. But, come on, Buell took a beating for releasing the XB's too long after announcing them and how long has Alan Cathcart been riding with that R&D guy in Austria promising any day now....I see there is a letter in one of the motomags that arrived yesterday.

For me...well, I'm glad to know the deposit on the V-Due (please tell me that it's part of the comeback) is not lost and I'm going to sit here and dream of riding my DREAM BIKE...the 1995 S2.

: )

Bimota is back - V due and all - with carbs I'm told - so you can scrap your S2 anytime soon

I don't agree with your observation of KTM. They are THE growing manufacturer of the decade and they have been extremely open about their future products and direction, much much more so than Buell it has to be said, and they have a past history of bringing prototypes to market.

Buell in the same sense might get that beating you mention because they are part of a massive corporation possibly not held by the same constraints financial or otherwise that might befall such as KTM.

No disagrement from me, but frankly KTM has lost customers by dangling the 990 for several years whilst unable to bring it to market.

Perhaps they have whetted some other appetites. I think it will be a poulat bike, but I've abandoned any hope of having one and that "gotta have it" "buyer's lust" is long gone.

Again...just a personal thing but I think I'm more inclined to go with a Road Thing style Honda SuperMotard conversion for city duty.

It works well in the country, too...

...what's a "poulat bike"? I know you're not a spell-checkin' kinda guy, but I can't figure that one out!

How 'bout some dumpster-diving the evening of the 26th?

The evening of the 26th it is. I am "officing" in the Stamford area, at present, if you need drug to Manhattan. Then, after the Great Dane and I drag yer aging arse about, we'll put you on the train for home.

Whatever it takes...dude....whatever it takes!

If only they would shoot the guy with the orange spray can and give the bike some not so sharp body work.It might work.Sharp as in flat surfaces joined by hard edges.

I'd agree with that Ross. I recently saw a pic of the prototype V twin KTM. With S1 style body it would look awesome.

I've just been emailing with an old mate of mine that I haven't heard from in twenty years, and he sent me a pic of my first road bike. When I bought it, it was a stock GS Suzuki.
Is this a streetfighter? We'd never heard the term applied to bikes back then........

Peter...Nice Bike!!!

StreetFighter, Cafe Racer, call it what you want. Just make sure you include all the colorful adjectives to embellish the creative design, functionality and downright good looks.
