blake,
yeah, I wanted to send out info to media, but i have nothing. A date it happend a first name, where he worked. they didn't give her anything and the consulate has not returned any of my or her calls. not having at the police report or that he is in fact still in jail tears me apart.

it might be best to go there and get a lawyer? show up in person and get the report?
take pics of the cruise co. and put preasure on them? they probably aren't even liable. I'm sure I can make them lose some $$ though. La Paz is a lager city and I think thats where the sent him. Without going there I think it would be hard to get a lawyer or more info. I *think* in a week or 2 I could maintain myself while Im there.

I'm not sure I know Dave a sac. I haven't been over there in along time.

I might be able to get the medical report from here, but thats just documentation that something happened. not where and who.

I'm not sure what i'm feeling now.. just kinda numb I guess.

my email is misato@speakeasy.net if anyone has sugestions that would be not public to the board, or if they can give it to someone that might be abel to help out.

tim

You should be able to find a firm in your part of the world(U.S) that would take your case that would garner as much attention as this would. Especially, considering the escalation of such crimes in the media. Heck I bet 20/20 would even do most of the legwork for you if you could even give them the smallest bit of solid fact.

I hope the healing goes quickly.

I'll have to call some attorneys around here and see what they say. my g/f is going to call the consulate AGAIN and see if she can get anyone on the phone. I guess a case number would be a frick'n start...

http://www.mexonline.com/consulate.htm

Sometimes going to the local source does more than going to our rep's down there. The local reps for Mexico in Seattle are there to generate positive publicity and business. Be diplomatic but firm and resolute and adamant to the point that you want true justice served. Not sure extradition would be an option for the rapist and attacker since this happened down in Mexico, but maybe their consulate can be of better service than our own down there has been.

Sorry this happened.
I'll stay on the legal side of the fence and say no more.

Another legal option would be to contact the AAA and speak with them about the possibility about putting out a travel advisory to their membership about the dangers of travel to Cabo and the frustrations of being a victim in the legal system there. There are thousands of tourists on the west coast who travel to Mexico each month and the 'Cabo economy depends on those tourism dollars. If the law won't help maybe get service by hitting them where they'll be a bit more motivated to get justice served.

Misato, you don't have to settle for a lawyer in the immediate area. I would just try for one in the U.S.. Also, the more experienced the better. If you have photo's of physical damage and present your case from that starting point, to one of the big media companies (ie the one that presents 20/20), they may even help you get the information.
