I'm am starting to read the remarks posted every night, and getting an idea what is going on. To start and I could possibly get in trouble for this but I will try and help answer your questions as stright as possible.

#1- The Kosco XB9RR is a larger displacement than stock
#2- The Buell Lighting series is gone for now.
#3- 2003 Sportbike Rules- 115HP, 365 lbs, any throttle body.
#4- 2003 Thunderbike- Prothunder bikes will fit right inn.
#5- We did not compete in all the races for very good reasons, this year we spent time working on testing and the basics. At some of the races we did not do well, do to testing of componets we were not sure will work. We are in no way embarased to test during a race and not do well, we want everyone to see what we are doing.
#6- If you guys need stuff for the XB, e-mail me what you want and I can answer you if I am either making it of will make it.
#7- At this time I am very confident that going into next year we will be ready & competing at the top of sportbike.

Nice job Jose, thank you for putting in a good word for me, I can answer your questions as best as I can. I am leaving for testing in 10 days and will return in mid Dec.

Doug, how's my ex-bike doing???

Thanks Rich for answering the questions, especially #1.

But then, what was the bike displacing when Eric won at Loudon? Can you tell us here, nobody else will know

Too bad about the Lightning series, will Brian B. be able to wear the #1 plate in Thunderbike?

Good luck next year! Will Barney still ride with you guys?

Aaaahhh, Jose', that #1 plate would be ours I believe. I will talk with Brian when he comes up to go ice bike riding with us in January, but I would say Jeff will retain the plate for 2003. Rich, so you say "we want everyone to see what we are doing" funny thing, at Daytona I was looking at X1 and new battery system you were running there when one of the guys in your pits (I had not seen him before) comes up and stuffs a towel over batteries in tail section. Now you know I am just giving you a hard time, you were not there at the time. I kind of laughed and he was polite, just had to take note of the prior post statement. Johnny D / Hoban Brothers Racing

You are right, Johnny, congratulations on being the 2002 Thunderbike Champ!

Maybe let Brian have the 1L or 1B plate?????

Anyway, next year should be very interesting. Good luck to you and all the other teams that decide to race their Buells next year, we'll see you guys at Pocono and hopefully Summit if y'all come back to the DC area.

Richard! It took me all season to get anywhere near understanding the stuff that was going on suspension wise. I warned you at the shop I was an idiot having fun. But it's still in mostly one piece. I plan on running it another year at least. With Thunderbike, I'll need a dual disc setup and the rules in sportbike say OEM calipers. Did they ever make a left caliper? Or can you get one? What else am I going to need to help it go in that class? (Besides a different rider!)Does a second throttle body help that much or would I be stepping out of my league again. I should probably just call.

Johnny,
The batterys you " Possibly " got a look at in the bike are some very one off prototype batterys and everyone was under orders not to let them looked at closely. I like that fact that you were paying attention!!!!

Jose,
I'd rather not say at the moment but if you thumb around a bit you can find the answer. As for riders we are still working on contracts!!!

Doug,
Give me a call on what ya need I am working on some wild stuff for the XB's & X1's I have a bunch of dual caliper set ups.

Hey Richard,

Great to see you online. I was the tall guy that you met at Kosco HD/Buell last summer at their open house. You had your X1 there and were showing me your trick breather and oil system. I think we were the only Buell guys there. I still have the Black '97 M2 that I bought up there, rode it back to Texas. Keep up the good work.

Uh oh, the big guns piped up and everybody got quiet.
We're waiting, so spill some beans somebody. HP ratings torque specs, why an X1 instead of XB or all XB. You've got the answers.

Wrong Blake. Rich T.(used to post here), and I were at Kosko's as well on our X1's. Had the pleasure of meeting Richard as well. Too bad we didn't run into you, Blake. Great to have you posting here Richard and Woodcraft too!!!

I read a little side column in MotorCyclist about the BMW Boxer Cups...apparently they are indeed looking for a series...not just a one time exhibition race. Is AMA racing withholding info again? Makes sense...like they'd build Replica's to commemorate a one time race, right?

Given the fact that they published the year's schedule over a month ago, I think it's safe to assume it's not a state secret that this is a "series; not a race".

Well a few people...one in particular...were harping that it was a one time only deal for Daytona.

No, I did not

Quote:

The BMW Boxer cup is a Daytona only event. The rest of the races are in Europe.

To eliminate your confusion and make it perfectly clear, when I typed "Daytona only event", I meant that it was not part of the rest of the AMA US racing schedule. So you won't see the BMW's at Brainerd, Mid-Ohio, VIR, Barber, Laguna, etc. They will ONLY race in the US March 9th at Daytona. The rest of the races are in Europe.

The Buells will race the weekend before with F.USA March 1-2.

Right now BRAG has their Dayona event scheduled for March 4-8. That's the wrong weekend.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could fill up the BRAG/Buell grandstands of the FUSA races with THOUSANDS (well, maybe hudreds) of people wearing BUELL stuff, waving Buell Flags, riding the Demo Buells and Battletraxing out in the Parking lot, hanging out at the BRAG hospitality tent and just having a great old time, and have LESS BMW fans show up for their race the next weekend?

The way to prove Erik Buell right and the AMA wrong about the "popularity" of Buell racing would be to sell more tickets and have more fans in the stands for the FUSA event than to the AMA event at Daytona next March.

If I was Buell I would reschedule the BRAG event, and call CBS again and get the Dayona event televised like they did for the Pocono event two years ago. It got pretty high ratings from what I remember.

I'm packing my bags and making plans, who's coming?

Well, they've had the series in Europe. It was to my understanding that their intentions were doing the same in the U.S.
