Anyone have any experience of this ? Can it be polished to a high shine or does it stay satin-effect for ever ? TIA |

If you polish it, who is to know it's titanium? You could lose some bling points there.... |

I would think you can polish it... Haven't you seen those rappers with the metal teeth? |

Hmmm...I've tried some metal polishes but nothing seems to have any effect - doh it is t-i-t-a-n-i-u-m after all - which made me think it needs something a bit special ? I'm curious as to what titanium looks like when polished... |

very much like polished steel -- very shiney -- however, it's so hard that you've gotta start with extremely agressive compounds (recommend 100 grit or so on a glue-charged 8 inch wheel at high speed, 3450 rpms or so) -- be prepared to spend a long time, an, with that bag wheel spinning so fast, be very careful -- specially round the edges, which can catch, turning your workpiece into quite a missle |

I've just finished a Titanium points cover and I'm going to shine it up. I'll let you know how I make out. I took some scotchbrite to it while I still had it in the lathe and it came up pretty nice, but nowhere near a mirror finish. I'm going to engrave the "Drummer Racing Products" logo on it as well. |

My wedding ring is titanium. Good ol' Brasso works fine. |
