Porterville--now there is an armpit.My parents moved there with my dad's co. in 1972.I was 19 y.o.I drove down and checked out the town,took one look and promptly told my folks see ya later,love ya,but NO.Stayed in Bay Area,and it did not take long before the rest of my brothers moved up,one by one, with me.
As an aside,I never leave my gear--anywhere.It's either locked to bike or with me.Lack of trust.

Damn you must be tough! When I broke my arm three years ago and all I wanted was to lie down somewhere and cry. Driving myself in a car to the hospital (I didn't even have to do this )would have frakking sucked--I couldn't have done it on my bike! You rock!
I hope you heal soon! Ya know, Yoga helped me rehabilitate my arm without surgery! You might try Iyengar style Yoga (slower and uses props to accommodate individual differences) if you don't already do it. No pressure! My Mother-in-law thinks Yoga is an evil cult!
By the way, I love my American Sport Bike Corbin seat!

Joanne, heal up quickly, Al needs someone keep up with him.
I broke both collar bones at the same time. Not fun. Especially when one was re-broken in the hospital when I was being moved.
Wyked, I might actually have more metal than you. Half-inch diameter titanium rod running the length of my left tibia, four bolts in my right knee, five 5" bolts in my right pelvis, a plate and six bolts in might right forearm. My x-rays look pretty cool, too. Kind of like a poor man's Wolverine. |

Raven I have a 1" thick rod from knee to hip in my right leg with 2 screws into the pelvic joint as well as 2 screws in my left ankle, from the Xray you can't tell there are actually 20 pins and screws still in the elbow ...and yes Dbird, they had to break my forearm to put my elbow together, the bailing wire is just support. |

Joanne, Please heal good. Yea! helmets. ( now I HAVE to order the Draggin Jeans )
Try "ThermaCare" heating pads, usually on discount at Wallyworld. Little pucks of iron/air heat units in a cloth/bandage thingy. I use the Knee ones sometimes, and they have them in neck/shoulder, back with bellyband & female tummy models. ( I get no kickback, wish I did )
Wycked, Do you have the "I'm a cyborg" card for security checkpoints? I don't, since they weren't used back in the day, so I always get a serious & sometimes confused wanding. "Try here, & it beeps here..." |

I was thinking more like a classic VW bug...
Aesquire its been real interesting, been using the Thermacare since my leg got busted so yes, but when it comes to security checkpoints, its the rod in my leg that causes the most issues, for some reason the sec gaurds get this idea I am trying to hide a sawed off shotgun in my pants... |
