Not me, sorry I can't make it guys, still in CA ( not sorry about that!) I put more miles on my friends bike I'm borrowing here in 9 days than I have put on mine in NY all spring and summer!
Thanks Russ! I owe ya a set of tires!
See you NY'ers soon.

bigblock,
if you had met us earlier i'd bet things might be different. the northeast has some wonderfull roads within a weekend's ride of nyc.

if you need a place to store that m2 over the winter just let me know, there's plenty of room in the barn. it's not heated, but it's dry and there's plenty of tools available for any winter projects you might have in mind.

yes it would have, mike- my dad ran the original great gorge ski school, then the (at the time "new"; ) vernon valley ski school, he got killed, then my mom ran it trhough the early 90s, then during some seasons off (injuries) i ran it.
still a plaque for my dad there at the gate to mountain creek. he was cool, he served in 'czechoslovakia' during the cold war, for the dod.

i'm planning on a nice, slow cruise (with the same scary isolators) up there with a buddy and his '48 chief in the afternoon.

Tomorrow is the big day! I hope you all have a great time! I am really looking forward to seeing so many Buells in one place and I always enjoy meeting new people from BadWeb.

In regards to your question about what time we will be at Bear Mountain… This is going to be a laid back event. We do not have a set schedule. My best estimate is approx 2:00pm.

I also wanted to let you all know that the customer who purchased the XB12X wanted to pick it up this afternoon. I did my best to talk him into stopping by tomorrow so you all can get a chance to see it.

Otherwise, everything is on track for tomorrow. I will post some photos from the event when I get back into work next week.

tramp,
didn't know your a czech, my road is slovak lane. my neighbors are czech immigrants, still speak the language, in fact they had dinner woth the czech president when he was in town a few months ago. really cool people, the old mans in his eighties and he could probably still lick both of us in a wrestling match.
as far as action park, do you remeber an employee named guy harbey?
saturday, the xr's here waiting if you want it.

actually, i'm a czech national, but not a citizen.... much like my dad, who was
american-born as well.
he served there with the DOD during the cold war
('ski tourist'), while i actually trained and competed there, as an alpine snowboarder. i became a resident by marriage and served in their army as an advisor during the changeover.
great people. i try to spend winters over there, but as my grandparents are both 90, i'll likely be spending more winters in carmel, california.
what dep't. did guy harby work in @ action park?
that's very cool of you re: the XR tomorrow. i'm doing a treejob not-too-far from you on husletown rd. blooming grove/chester border, tomorrow...
hmmmmm....!

guy "said" he ran a ski lift at times and also worked in security. he was short and stocky with blonde hair, liked the occasional uneven match with multiple guys much bigger than himself, usually came out with out a scratch. he once bet us he could drink a case of beer and a bag of chips in a hour, he got close.
guy had a tendency to rub some people the wrong way at times. it's entirely possible you may not be a fan of his.
too bad about the tree job, work is work. if your status changes be here about 7:40, if not we spin next time.
when we finally do get to ride we'll have to stop by my neighbors, they love to meet fellow czech's, still homesick after 50 years. they are absolutley some of the best people i have ever met.

cool- where you rding tomorrow?

i don't remember mr. harby, but i worked there some years, then others i didn't. got to know all the 'lifties' by sight, at least. sounds like a guy i'd a liked.
according to what year he was there, he'd a known me.
i was never very...'low profile'.

doin the danbury buell day with hammer, then bear mtn, and finally watching a buddie get married to a very cool girl at night. should be a good day.
if your climbing and cuttin you must have been doin it for a while. seen some guys do it before at some pretty impressive heights (and i work at height), amazing stuff! people often think were crazy but we rarely see anything above 40ft, i'm bettin i've seen guys cuttin at 70 or 80ft on tree jobs.

that's wildly generous of you, mikey!
i'm gonna catch some shuteye, though, i think, then just take a slow ride (nod to foghat) on my rapidly degenerating s2 rat, up to bear mtn., with a buddy or two on antique iron. we'll likely just sit around and enjoy the view.
although it WOULD be fun to take that XR, I raced one as a kid, when the XR 75 was first introduced in '72.

alright that was awesome!!
finally a dealer that is on board! i can't say enough, danbury buell put on one impressive show of support for the buell brand and it's riders(and the riders showed up to support them as well). they basically provided a professional level suspension/throttle/braking class for free(with food and giveaways). rod pink (instructor) was thorough and professional. jeff went the extra mile to provide any and all information that anyone required. i'll bet jeff and rod had to pitch this idea to management pretty hard (after all how many people do you think would normally show up for a regional buell event), but the turn out was fantastic, even with a rainy day.
rod led a ride after the classroom session for "testing" of new techniques, perfect.

for anyone that decided not to attend you really missed a good one, the next time danbury buell sets up an event you've got to go!

Danbury's lead tech was kind enough to take time out during what appeared to be lunch to take a look at my bike's detonation issue. he actually found what appear to be a few "interesting" issues that the bike will be going back to them for. he doubletimed and got the bike buttoned up well enough for me to ride the event. very cool, as i said above i can't see how they could have done a better job!

Jeff,

Please post pictures! I'd love to see how everything went! Wish I could have been there, but the shop is busy with P&A bike orders.

I'm sorry I missed it, but I had to entertain some relatives from across the pond and play tour guide.

Next time I am so there.
