Just wondering if anyone has bought and installed the touring seat for the XB9R. Wondering if it might be a little more padded, comfortable. Roy

I ordered one about a week ago - the stocker doesn't work for me at all.

If that doesn't work I'll send the stock seat off to Sargent - they've done good work for me before.

In any event, I'll report back when I have experience with the new seat.

FWIW, in the interim, beads can really help. Don't laugh - I trimmed mine down from one made for a car available at WalMart for under $10 - and it REALLY helps!

I know, I know. The HORROR and all that. Might make a good Stephen King novel.

OTOH, what makes the bike great is it can be loaded up like that and blast across Montana 2-up at 120 mph for hours at a time. Have twice spent 3 weeks+ with da wife in tow covering about 6,000 miles each trip. When you get to the twisties it can be stripped down to feel almost like a (600lb) sport bike. It's a great (sporty) alternative to buying a GoldWing or a K1200LT.

No reason that a trip like that couldn't be done 2-up on a Buell, but I value my marriage!

I must confess, I much prefer it in "sporting mode"
