Ok...I have tried riding with the rice bike crowd, they all wanna' go 140mph all the time, and do wheelies non-stop( I like to have fun as much as the next guy...but they don't know when to quit!). And I have tried the cruiser guys...I keep falling asleep, because they all wanna' just run the straight roads, and go 45mph all the time
I went out today and rode some of the most beautiful country there is anywhere(and some of the best roads!!), all by myself. That is fine, I kinda' like the solitude sometimes, but I like having someone to ride with too.
What I am getting at here is....are any of you guys in southern Indiana?? I am in Bedford, halfway between Indy, and Louisville. If anyone is close, maybe we can meet somewhere, and go ride!
I know some GREAT roads!

I'm in the Indy area, and I know a few guys around here. Have you tried checking at Bloomington HD/Buell?

I am near Indy_Bueller. I'm temporarily out of commission but should be ready for a ride in September. Once I'm up and running I'll schedule something with I_b to run down.

Can't make it that weekend...I will be over at Haspin Acres with my other toy (Suzuki Samurai). I really wanted to make demo days, because my buddy Kevin in sales said they would try to have the '06 Buells out and ready! They are supposed to be getting a Screaming Eagle Destroyer V-rod too!(no demos for that though I'm sure!)
I will have to get with you and ride though, maybe in the next couple weeks.
I just did 58 to 135 to 45 and then 446 back to Bedford Wednesday...again...by myself!

I'm 30 miles east of Louisville and sure don't ride enough. I'll plan to make it up to the demo- the sport version VRod looks good. Then again, a Uly looks better for less $$. Someone planning a ride before the snow falls?

Hey Smitty,

I used to live in Columbus Indiana and some of my alltime favorite roads are down there. I live in Milwaukee now but still head down to southern Indiana to ride on at least a monthly basis. Best kept secret around! I've drug some of my Milwaukee friends along and they freak out when they see the roads! We usually start in Bellesville pike to Stonehead, 135 through Story (best road anywhere!), story to freetown, freetown to bedford via 58, back to 446, up 446 to 45 and back to 135. Also fun to go to french lick from Bedford. When I used to live in the area, the REAL sportbike riders (ones who like curves....)would meet at the bridge on 135 in between story and freetown at around 9am every Saturday and Sunday.

Was down there last weekend on ducati's as a matter of fact. had a riot. Actually, somebody on a buell riding by themselves stopped by the bridge when we were resting to see if we were ok...was that you?

Will definitely give you a shout next time we are headed down. Looks like the weekend of 10/15 for sure and maybe another time in September.

WFO

Demo Day 10am-4pm

08/27/2005 - 08/27/2005

Demo Day at Harley-Davidson/Buell of Bloomington. Free demo rides on Harley-Davidson and Buell motorycles - 10:00am until 4:00pm

This is a dealer sponsored demo day. This will be the second one of the summer that I know of. At the first one, I think they had 13 bikes. I'll be there but probably with the sportster to see what I can get out of it on a trade-in. I love it, but I might have to have an all Buell stable (Uly).

Smitty, I live in Columbus and ride to Bloomington fairly regularly. It sounds like there might even be enough semi local riders to get a Brag chapter (or reasonable facsimile) going! Would be fun to get a group of Buellers together all at once for an invasion of southern Indiana. I'll try to make the demo ride. Would really like to take a putt on an X! Email me later in the week. Maybe we can plan a meet.

Hey RacerX1! Wassup? Looks like I'll be adding another Buell to the stable pretty soon. Getting an 03 XB9S from a buddy getting mobed back to Iraq. He just bought it new in May. Only 653 miles on it, and I put several of those on it! I may just have my track bike now! Still looking for more ponies for my M2! It's an addiction. Would really like 100+ rwhp but want to keep stock displacement. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a plan! I should be on my Cyclone unless I have picked up the XB by then.

Nope Racer, that wasn't me...but I have been up on 135 a lot lately. I run back down to French Lick too. I take 450 from Bedford to Shoals, then 150 over to French Lick. They are both great roads!
I really wish I was gonna' be in town next weekend! If you guys all get together, post a full report on here. Maybe we can get everyone together a couple more times before the season is over.
The website for Bloomington HD/Buell has a page for a BRAG chapter....but it's blank. The owner is on here sometimes...maybe he can shed some light on it. Or you guys can just ask Saturday!

It's not listed on the Buell event calendar, so I'm not sure I'd expect the Buell van with a Uly. There is a gap in the calendar that weekend, however. In any event, it'd be a good ride.
I'll make it a point to finally call American Sportbike on Monday and get some parts on order. With a little luck I should be able to join you.... assuming my wrist is strong enough to hold in a clutch

I_B, I'll let you know on Friday if I'm joining you or not.

We are having our second demo event of the 2005 season Saturday, August 27th from 10:00am until 4:00pm. After hosting the Buell demo truck at our dealership on a number of occasions in the past, we began doing our demo events in-house last year. While having the official Buell demo truck onsite is fun, the great advantage, for our dealership, in doing our own demo event is that riders enjoy the opportunity to test ride both Harley-Davidson and Buell models. We found that people who came to ride Harley-Davidsons end up sampling Buell motorcycles and those who came to ride a Buell may try out a V-Rod, Springer Classic, Dyna or touring model. This type of event has worked tremendously well for us.

The Buell product we will have available to sample include, the new XB12Ss, an XB12R, City X, XB12CG and also a Blast. We have not yet received a Ulysses, but are hoping the first one arrives in time for the event. If it doesn’t, you are welcome to stop in for an individual demo ride once it is at our dealership. Harley-Davidsons available to ride include, a V-Rod, Street Rod, Dyna Street Bob, Springer Classic, Ultra Classic FLHTCUI, Road King, Heritage, 883L etc. 14 motorcycles total.

Concerning our B.R.A.G. Chapter: The chapter’s name is Hoosier Thunder Club and it was one of the first chapters chartered. We have gone from being a very active to chapter to one that is currently not so active. I would love to kick start the enthusiasm again, but I need the help of area Buell enthusiasts who want to get involved. If you are interested in being an “active” participant in the Hoosier Thunder Club B.R.A.G. then give me a call, send me an email or better still, simply stop by and we’ll get rolling. We love Buell motorcycles and they are an important part of our business. I am always willing to do my part as the sponsoring dealer, but it takes enthused members to really make a B.R.A.G. chapter successful.

We hope to see you at our demo event this Saturday.

Where are you at BuellDealer? Are you looking for volunteers? I am too far away for a regulat BRAG meeting, but would make the ride for bigger events.

Reepi,
He's in Bloomington, IN. I haven't been there myself, but there's enough radio commercials here in Indianapolis to feel like they are a supportive Buell dealer.
I should be back on two within a week. Hope to catch you either here or on one of my trips to Dayton.

That would be a lot of time for just a test ride... It is like 2+ hours away one way.

Let me know if you are in Dayton / Cincy. Some really nice riding around the Little Miami (Lebanon, Ceasers Creek, Oragonia, etc).
