Howdy folks,

I am prety new to this board so perhaps I am missing something... Where are all the Southern California Buell riders? I would like to hook up with a few folks for a couple of rides and have a hard time wanting to ride with the kiddies on that seem to makeup the bulk of the SoCal scene.

Any info, a list or website?

Hey Skyguy,

Your bio says your in Lake Arrowhead. Still there?
I live in Redlands and ride in the San Bernardino mts almost every weekend. I'm on a Red S3. Saw a black Firebolt about two weeks ago which was surprising cause i rarely see other motorcyclists let alone another Buell. Don't see to many Buell riders in the IE/(909).

Anyway,i'll ride with ya.

Jeff

HI Jeff,

My Buell is silver and black. I think the black one belongs to a Crestline resident. (He posted here once but I never got a contact number). Do you ever ride on the weekdays? I have a buddy that is only available about once a month and I just have to ride more often than that.

Been riding alone alot and sometimes it gives me the willeys. No one there is something goes wrong.

Sky,

We have one of the biggest active groups in the country right here in the So CA area. We're also racing at Willow Springs every 3rd Sunday of the month. WE've had as many as a dozen Buells racing on a big weekend (and Buell now puts Factory money into our Twins class)

Also, there's a bunch of us hitting track days together regularly.

The Glendale BRAG group does a last Sunday of every month ride - starting out of the Glendale HD/Buell shop. Usually mounting up at 9-ish at the shop.

Candice and Tim Hurley had headed up the rides and you can get on their email list if you hit them up at

2whlnut "at" sbcglobal (_dot_) com

During the season, we'll regularly get more than 20 on a ride and on a track day can get nearly 30.

Thanks Slaughter,

I bet I can make a Sunday a month! It is hard to get time off on the weekends. I own a paragliding school and weekends are my weekdays. I will make an effort to make this months ride though. Trackdays! I used to play at Willow a bunch (twelve years ago or so) and would love to go play again. Most of the glider community does not sport ride to much. Funny, they all think motorcycles are to dangerous........

Skyguy,
If you can see your way to clearing Sunday, Aug 28th, come on down to the American Sport Bike BBQ in Vista, there should be lots of SoCal (and other) Buellers present to connect with. See here

Sky - Al's place is a MECCA for us So CA folks. His annual BBQ is an institution.

I'm also a pilot... dang.

Not sure if I'll make this month's ride - have to leave for a couple weeks - including a week in Milwaukee visiting family and doing some business too.

Actually it is a Black XB9S Lightning that lives in Crestline (me). Used to live in Vista before moving to the mountains last November Wish I had known Al and the other guys were up in Big Bear the other weekend it would have been nice to go on a ride. Skyguy my email is kenlipp@hotmail.com and phone number is 760-458-5603. Not sure of directions to Al's shop, but get on the 215 south merge on 15 south take 78 west and it would a few miles down the road. I have two stores I still cover in that area so I make it down there a couple times a month.
Eurotwins - where in Lake Gregory? I am near the corner of Horst Dr. and Bergshrund.

Actually just looked up the address to Al's and if you take the 78 West like I stated above get off at Sycamore go South (left), turn right on Engineer street, left on Distribution Way, 1341 Distribution Way.

Skyguy

Just to clarify - our August Glendale group ride is always down to Al's American Sport Bike.

Tim and Candice normally organize the ride but since Candice's mom's passing - they've been busy tying up loose ends and understandably may not do detail planning this month.

They usually start as a group from Glendale HD and head south. Often in 2 groups - an earlier group taking the scenic route and a later group just heading straight south on the slab.

If you don't see something posted on the Southern California section soon, you might call Glendale HD - ask for Ernie in sales. He'll know if there's been any plans made yet.

Might just be a "get here at X:00 time and just head on South" sorta plan.

Stay tuned.

Not sure if we're gonna be able to make it - Sunny is teaching scuba that weekend and I have to travel on company biddness... but you'll enjoy the group.

Eurotwins,
Is that Altdorf? Looks like you are on the other side of Lake Gregory Drive from me, about a mile. We are up here full time, any plans to make yours a full time?

Krassh, Sorry,It is Altdorf and Cresta. We currently have it listed for sale, have owned it for almost 4 years, but no takers yet. I work in Alhambra so commuting would be a bitch. Usually are there 1-2 weekends a month and will bring a bike up with us. Mostly a Bonneville that the wife rides on....John

Yeah Alhambra would be a pain in the butt. There are days I work from home, so it is not bad for me. I cover an area from as far south as Escondido and as far north as Victorville/Palmdale. So I drive for work anyway, but not the same place day after day, which is cool. Years ago I used to commute from Palmdale (were I lived) to Long Beach (at Boeing) for 9 years.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend, but please send me a mail (sales at americansportbike dot com ) with an RSVP on how many are coming so I can plan for the right amount of food. I can send you a flyer and any updates on ride starts etc.

We don't have a know ride leader for the Glendale gang yet, several of the usual leaders of that group have had things come up that weekend that prevents them from attending. If anyone from Glendale can step up with a a plan (starting place and time is good enough) so that I can direct folks coming down from thatta way to contact you, I'd sure be most appreciative.

Al

Got a new drive belt from Skip Fordyce today (they have a Ulyeses) and tore up a few miles of the mountain. Got pulled over in Twin Peaks for 70 in a 45 and let off with a warning. I really must buy a new spedometer sensor (again)......

So who is up for a ride to Vista from or thru Big Bear? Please consider this my RSVP! Sorry I can not make the Sunday run gotta work. Yay more people to ride with!!!!!!!

I just sent a note out to Matty, Ernie, Tim and Candice to see who/where/when on the ride from Glendale down to American Sport Bike

I'll post here - Tim and Candice don't do the online thing much.

Well - Tim and Candice are out of circulation still and they'd appreciate somebody willing to take the lead as group leader out of Glendale this month.

Sunny and I can't go - if we do, it'll not be decided until the last minute.

I'll put this note up on the Storm Fronts - Southern California section.
