I dropped by Eastern Harley Davidson on my way back from Home Depot, and lo and behold: a 2006 Buell was on the premises, sorta.
Of course the owner wasn't quite sure where it was, or what it was exactly,- he leaves that kind of thing to his son, who was able to positively identify it as a "The Long One".
Naturally it was out back, but I had the feeling it would be on the show room floor in only a couple of days. Ulysses expected in a month or two.
It was red, with the red wheels, and it looked very nice.
Although I am glad that I have a 2003 XB9S, which will always be a classic in my book, the "genuine and first XB", I couldn't help thinking that perhaps this might be the bike Buell should have used to initiate the XB series, because it will look more like a "real " motorcycle to most riders, especially those who show up at a Harley shop, and it will probably handle more like one too - not sure if that is good or bad at this point.
I would have loved to take it out for a spin, but this is Long Island after all, and we don't do that sort of thing here:-).
PS. This dealer list about 10 New Old Stock tubers on his web site, and he has at least five of them on the floor. Not real sure, but I believe he is asking just about list price for them.Don't know why anyone would want one, but there are tuber fans out there that simply don't want anything else, period.

Hey Tramp,
Don't know if Billy's is still in business, is that the name of the joint or the name of the Restaurant.
Restaurants come and go so fast here, it is hard to keep up.
Hope to see you out here one day.
I am trying to get up to Danbury for the group ride on Aug. 20.
