As for me, I bow to Blakes wishes here on BadWeb. He is the admin, and his word goes. The custodians do a fine job. When something gets out of line, in any direction, they take care of it. Personally I think the Best Ever thread worked itself out.

No harm, no foul... in the long run. Just opinions. And everyone has one, and eveyone thinks theirs is right. Thats the way it is.

SacBorg is a different animal. One with teeth. The only rule there is... dont type something to someone you wouldnt say to their face. Because in the long run, we will all eventually see each other, one way or another. So you will be held accountable for yer words.

That is a double edged sword. There are many at SacBorg that would indeed say VERY rude things to someones face. Myself included (not proud of it, but it has happened). BUT in the long run, eveyone there faces up to the things they say, so it has a little bit of self policing.

as for other issues...

it just goes to show how passionate people are about Buell. Current and past owners. Its a cool brand, its a great idea, some of us wish it was something more than it is, some are happy with what it is. Neither are right or wrong.

I've often said that my Buell wasnt the best bike I've ever bought (please dont start a new flame war over that statement : D ), but it was the best money I've ever spent.

Why?

The people I've met because of my Buell.

You meet the nicest people on a Honda? B.S. (quick, someone post that on a Honda baord : D)

I've met some of the nicest, strangest, loudest, wierdest... insert yer own adjective here.... people because of my Buell.

So in a sense, I've taken alot FROM the brand. I gave them my $ for a new bike. The only one I've ever bought off the showroom floor, and I've owned a few (no, not trying to start a pissing match over who has owned more...). Its the only bike that has driven me to pull out the check book on the spot (although the Ducati S4R is damn close...see a resemblance?) I dont regret an instant, or a penny I spent on my Buell.

I've got alot more in return.

See ya'll next year at the American Sport Bike Night Dinner?

Perhaps at the SacBorg Luxury Box at the Track?

Reg,

Man can I relate to being misquoted/misinterpreted. If an anonymous poster misquotes you, please set the record straight. The Anony posters garner no more favor than any other anony poster going by some pseudonym.

Jlnance,
When credibility is an issue, every approved anony poster has it. When an anony enjoins the realm of personal attack, well, that speaks for itself. As to their identities... you no read good. Who said that anyone knows the anony posters' personal identities? I said no such thing.

See what I mean Reg? : )

Blake... Thanks for the time and trouble you go through for this sight. I don't want to speak for anyone else specifically, but "we" appreciate it very much.

Also... Thanks to the sponsors for helping to make it possible.

This site is perfect as it is, anonymous feature and all.

As far as the BIKE thread goes, the level of moral outrage is overblown. I can't believe that you guys (Vik, Chop, and Snail) even care about Anony's remarks. Weren't you defended by all?! We who know you spoke up. C'mon!! Seriously, are you guys just having fun with this whole outrage thing? No offense to any of you, but Sacborg (where the freedome fighters are based) is like a wild west skateboard park of free thought and speech. Outrageous banter is the house beverage. Oh, I'm not complaining...sometimes you feel like a nut as the saying goes. Been there, posted that.

I have learned that some folks really get steamed when they feel that have been misunderstood. Maybe that's it. I can relate. But it isn't a life changer.

This BIKE fight and the ensuing clamour is not worthy of changing one feature of this board. Not one. The Anony feature should not be modified in ANY WAY. This site is a bulwark of things Buell. That is what it is chiefly. It is also a Buell ENTHUSIAST website which should mean by definition a place of mutual admiration and exploration of things Buell for those so inclined. It is not a place where detractors have a right to be heard over the conversations of the enthusiast. That's just life on private property.

That's how I see it. Not mad at anybody, just a little incredulous.

If I have anything to do with it at all, I will help keep this board AS IS.

Would anyone like some warm milk and cookies?

Jon and the rest of you guys that are pooh-poofing Vik,Chop ,and Snail for getting upset for being insulted is assuming a little much. You are basically making light of their feelings.I think it does nothing but grind salt into the wounds.Do not assume to know how they feel or to dictate how they should be feeling. To tell someone to "get over it" is unkind.
And for those that chose to add in cute sayings to take the sting out of their postings I really don't find humorous either.

Pammy, does is have "boomer" painted on the side?

: )

If it's the one I think, I had the pleasure of test riding and delivering it on behalf of Fossil watches who gave it to him.

On the misquoting. . . I feel your pain. I've often had my "the M-2 Cyclone is one of the best bikes ever made and I can prove it" quote offered up with the "one of the" carelessly deleted.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

Court, Not the Yankees. It's the Mets. I sometimes type without reading what I wrote. I was trying to hurry up and get it posted.

So I get the AL and the NL mixed up at times. Anyway the Mets aren't doing as poorly as the Yanks and that makes my earlier bit not as funny.

Reg... You are absolutely right and I understand. If you ever see any misinformation about you presented anywhere, drop a message to a couple custodians, and we will immediately edit the post (anon or no) with your clarification. Feel free to use the personal message feature, I can usually get to it very quickly.

If you can post a clarification about the seat, I will paste it directly into the anon misquote.

White Sox -- though not many care (even in Chicgo)

although I gotta agree w/Chop on this one -- baseball is pretty boring -- it IS comforting to hear it on the radio in the Entropy Lab while spinning wrenches, though -- anyone ever notice that all the MLB announcers sound the same (kinda like all pilots sound like they come from Alabama while on the intercom?)

you might still have been correct, Mamm...er...Pammy, as one of the Mets' top pitchers, last season, is currently a Yankees pitcher, this season.
The Mets are the more dynamic team to watch, here in NY, anyway- they get make HALF the $ amount (almost to the $) that the Yanks make, yet they play far harder.
NY Yankees- the best team money can buy (DOH!)

although I gotta agree w/Chop on this one

No way, well maybe

Baseball is a sport that has to be seen in person, it has to be understood, and it has to be enjoyed
Baseball on anything else, ie TV or Radio blows, but in person its fantastic, the fans, the players, its an electric game
I love going to the park, watching the game, spending time and enjoying all the STUFF that goes along with the game, BUT after10 or 11 innings, foods gone, beers gone, bunches of people left, it starts to hurt, but thats only happened a few times
Basketball is kinda the same way for me, watching the Bulls play in person is way more fun than on TV, i think it applies to MC racing as well as car racing
So, why don't well all go out to the ball game, instead of being in here???
Just a thought
R

Agreed, I love tailgating, been to several games this year !! Of course it's going to Brewer games, sometimes they just don't play well, but I have a good time and beer makes it all better !!

Baseball is not my favorite sport, but if it's a good game I do kinda like watching it whether in person or on TV !! Cannot for the life of me get into basketball, just can't !!

Anyway, who changed the topic of this thread !??

I've never really gotten the hang of the whole baseball thing - gotta be an acquired taste.

I did however go to my first baseball game ever last year; Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox at the height of the rivalry. We sat 4 rows behind the Red Sox dug-out and I had a great time. No real concept of the plays and such, but the whole New Yorker and Baseball thing was a riot.

I always thought that a home run ball was a cool memorabilia to be kept. Except that when the Yankees play home games, all home run balls by the visiting team just gets tossed back onto the field - not worth keeping. Gotta love the NY attitude : )

Now, tall, sweaty women - Chop, well said - all the other stuff too.

I do empathize with your low perspective on the game. Fortunately for me, such a perspective is beneath me.

paraphrasing George Carlin on sports:

To be a sport, an activity must have 2 things - violence and balls...

Hockey almost makes the exception to the definition of "sport" but is played with a puck and the only place a puck is used outside a hockey game is in the men's urinal.

People try to claim that soccer is a sport but it's the exception to the rule because while there's violence and balls, it is played with the feet. Balet dancing is done with the feet - ballet dancing is NOT a sport. I rest my case!

Please believe me when I say that I don't pooh pooh Chop, Vik or Snail's feelings. I guess I am just surprised that's all. I LIKE THEM (well, never met Snail, but he smells ok on the internet).

And I'm not saying to "get over it". Not my place to do that. If I have conveyed that sentiment, I TAKE IT BACK!.
