I have a 96 S2, my rear tire is a 207 Dunlop that is "170/60/17. Will a "180/55/17 fit properly? The tires I am seeing for saw, (via the internet), seem to be "bumpy" and "wrinkly". What is this stuff? And lastly, where is a good place to check for the best deals on tires? Thanks all.

Take care, be safe.

FYI, I had the 170 tire on the back of my bike (2002 M2, PM rims) and switched to a 180. I will be switching back to the 170 as soon as I use up this set. It feels like the bike is more difficult to turn since the switch. I have found no benefit to the 180.

Doughnut, check the KV, there are several tire threads. 170/60-17 was evidently the stock rear size on all Buells. The standard rear wheel is 5" wide and that's the correct tire size for it. The PM rear wheel is 5.5" wide and while it came from the factory with the 170/60-17 it will also take a 180/55-17 properly.

Some say the 180/55-17 on a PM wheel handles a little better than the 170/60-17. On the standard wheel, you're probably better off with the 170/60-17.

Doughnut, Pirelli Scorpions. AWESOME tire. Better in every aspect to the dunlops.

Yeah, they don't come in a 170. But even a 180 Pirelli will turn in faster and easier than a 170 dunlop IMHO.

If ya come to the meeting on Thursday, I'll letcha try out my bike with the scorps on it.
