Author Message   Trac95ker Posted on Thursday, August 04, 2005 - 10:20 pm:        I had my tires mounted the day before I went to the track and wasn't sure how they would perform...they are retreads. To my surprise they stuck like glue for as far as I could push them. As far as traction, I'm sold. I'll continue to buy these tires. Not sure how long they'll last, but looking at the treads after a full track day they still look new. More bike damage then the savings of the tires. Grip levels were nowhere near as good as the current supersport tyres such as Metzler Rennsports (Racetech now) or Pirelli Diablo Corsa. The biggest minus point on the Tomahawks though is the shear weight of the tyre. They weigh almost twice as much as a Metzler and upset the handlling quite a bit (to the point where we needed a steering damper for the first time when using these). It is really noticeable if you try different tyres at the same track.   Trac95ker Posted on Friday, August 05, 2005 - 12:04 pm:        Well that sucks! Tire tech is constantly evolving. Do you think they are past that? Trojan did you try the tires when they just came out? Again I'm wondering if they have improved. I read a positive review on them. Thats why I decided to try them. I noticed the tires were stiffer and heavier than the D-207's. I don't think I'm pushing the tires like you racers but the heat build up maybe close. Thanks for the warning. I'll keep it in mind.
