This is the deal I have worked out in my head for when I go look at a buell cityx this month. 500 off sticker price. free racekit installed with dyno tune (I pay for dyno time.) free first service. 20 % off or cost of (whichever is lower) accessory purchases for 90 days from date of purchase. Thanks Kraven, but I was asking about a XB9SL, which is a lowered version of the XB9S. It's a 2003 model. Good luck on your Cityx purchase. It sounds like a reasonable offer to me. | ||

Could I interest you in a trip to Wisconsin? I just bought a 2003 XB9S, yellow,1105 miles, we can put a low seat on it for you and get it almost as low as a XB9SL. I will do the 1000 mile service,check the bike over and put it on the floor for 5600.00 Interested? Kraven, You might be a little optimistic on your deal. Discount 500.00 race kit 619.95 install 165.00 @55.00 per hour 1st service 145.00 That's a discount of 1429.95 MSRP 8695.00 disc 1429.95 So you'd be paying 7265.05 for it???? What about frt and setup? I don't charge it but most do and it does have to figure in there somewhere, the factory charges frt to the dealer(I think it's 180.00) and the service dept doesn't set them up for free. Yep, the dealer is going to make a little on the race kit and labor but still? Basically they would make next to 0 profit on your deal. Now if they don't do well with Buells they may take the money and run but I doubt any good dealer would do the deal. I wouldn't. No offense intended. | ||

Daves, thanks for the great offer. What I'm trying to do is find out what my 2003 XB9SL is worth. It's got 5 miles on it. I bought it from a dealer who wasn't doing well with Buells. He took the money and ran. That said, what's the drive-out price on your 1105 mile XB9S, with the stock seat? How far are you from Marietta, GA? | ||

I bought the bike for my brother, but he won't ride it until he gets the city seat, city hand guards and hardware, and oil change kit that he ordered. It's been 6 weeks, and he's losing patience, so he authorized me to advertise it. The muffler got scratched when the bike was pushed up onto my trailer, but aside from that, the cosmetics are perfect. He's asking $6200. Maybe the parts will get here tomorrow and he'll change his mind. Your $5500 XB9S sounds nice, but the 1800 mile two day trip and motel room kill the deal. | ||

VIBR8R - Sounds almost like my bike. I got an 03 9S in March. I paid $6k from Earl Small's HD. I've since added the CityX seat, handguards, Pilot Powers and open airbox conversion. I haven't waited for 6 weeks for anything. Who is your dealer? Stone Mountain HD is the best in Metro Atlanta. | ||

Kdan, is yours an XB9S or an XB9SL? Was it new? I think the XB9S is worth more, but I'm not sure how much more for comparison purposes. I purchased the bike in February from HD West Virginia. They held it for me until the snow melted. I took a day off when I knew I could get it and keep it dry. It's never seen the rain. The parts were paid for up front and I don't blame the dealer. Dealers are in business to make money and keep customers happy, but some parts are made in batches and made overseas, so we just have to wait. | ||

Blame the dealer. Even my "local" dealer would've had 'em in 2 weeks. Shoulda called Dave S. Not all dealers are Buell friendly even tho they sell 'em. (Message edited by jerzydevil on July 17, 2005) | ||

Jerzydevil, my local dealer is much too crafty to make any guarantees like that. May yours never disappoint you. When I bought the bike, I had never heard of Daves. I'm learning, though. | ||

DaveS, I realize that the deal in my head may not be perfect, but I gotta start somewhere. I work for a Metric dealership, so I know how to play the game. No one pays MSRP. Granted, I'm new to the HD stuff, but still... The race kit may retail for 619, but I doubt that's dealer cost. etc, etc... Though, I do believe in supporting the dealer network. And that can't happen if they can't make a little money. Plus, If the service dept gets a taste of the deal, I make friends with them too. There are a lot of dealers who would take the money and run. But, I'm not interested in doing business with a dealer who isn't interested in Buell in a long term kind of way. I got a feeling that once I become a bueller, I'll be one for a while.
