just had Pilot Powers put on the 12S. Road home nice and easy, but the bike felt too slippery, even for new tires. Got home, looked at the tire PSI on the side wall, said 42 on both front and rear. I know with the 207's it was 36 and 38. Should I run those PSI recommended by the book, or whats on the side wall. I know at the last Track Day, guys were running like 22PSI with PP's. I know that's for the track though, not the street.

The pressure printed on the sidewall is the MAX pressure. You should run the pressure in the manual for STREET use as the tire pressure is based on the bikes weight. The track is a different animal then the street and the rules for tire pressures are slightly different.I have heard to drop 2-5lbs from stock to run 30lbs to run stock if your in the beginner class to...you get the idea. But for general street riding you want to use whats listed in the book as a starting point and adjust up or down from there depending on how the bike feels and how the tire is wearing.
