I have 50 mm of sag in my X1 forks. how do I go about getting it to 35? I have not found it in the KV.

I have read the s1 manual. not sure it's the same. 15mm longer shim? (part #6?)

is 35ft 30 rear appropriate for the track for a X1? it was at 50ft 50rear and WAY to soft.

If you weigh more than 175lbs you will want stiffer springs. I weigh 225lbs and put Race Tech .95kg springs in and it's like a new bike. Race Tech website has a spring rate calculator and the phone techs are very knowledgeable.

Sag does not affect how "soft" your suspension feels. Sag only affect the amount of rebound versus compression travel. The spring stiffness and the damper settings will affect how stiff or "soft" your suspension feels.

That said, yes, I agree that you may benefit from a proper sag adjustment. Yes a 15mm longer shim will reduce front sag by approximately 15mm; it may not be exactly that though due to the effects of varying geometry and weight bias. For the track, I'd recommend even less than 35mm sag, more like 25 to 30mm, especially if you are on the heavy side. The reduction in sag will help to compensate for the lack of proper spring rate in the fork springs. The 35 mm setting is a good all around setting though.

The race tech spring do work, but barely! They were made for the WP forks and carried over to the Showa units. The damn things are too long!
The snag is getting the correct spacer length to keep them from hanging up in the slider tube. I had to run 20mm sag in the front, even though I needed more since I keep topping out. Problem was, I couldn't get anymore sag! If I used a shorter spacer, it caught on the top of the tube and got the front end all notchy - not good... My recommendation is talk to Max over at Traxxion dynamics ( www.traxxion.com ) for the correct springs, or one of the guys at Lindemann Engineering ( http://www.le-suspension.com ). You won't believe the difference!
