Ok, I know it's a not a Buell, so don't stone me. My brother is looking for a new bike, he crashed his 2000 Kaw. ZR-7S back in January and is ready to get back in the saddle. (Believe me, I've tried to get him to get a Buell, he doesn't want another Sport Bike.) Well, he wants info on the Yamaha V-Star 1100. Was wondering if anyone has owned one of these or has a site with info about this bike? |

It's a big fat bastard cruiser that will stop when you hit the brakes...eventually. But hey, some people like that. It's pretty reliable from my buddy's experience, and there are a million of 'em out there. If you like that kinda thing. (Message edited by kdan on June 28, 2005) |

One of my buddies here in town has one and I took it for a spin the other day. It was alright, handles like you'd expect. Seem to run fine. I just took it down the road a mile or so and came right back, but thought it was kind'a cool to wear shorts and a t-shirt and not have to take off my cap, even when we were bumping 90 mph. Rob |

The Yamaha V-Stars now have a very extensive aftermarket support ssytem. Its not as deep as HD's but it is more extensive then any of the other cruiser markets out there. With the new "Street Cruiser" drag class, there are go fast goodies for the engine and stop fast goodies for the brakes. When ever I read reviews of the 2000 and newer V-star makes, they usually got outstanding marks when it came to the brakes. Some tester even compared them to sport touring brakes. Much of the "Warrior" accessories are available for them. |
