I know we all have good and bad days with the dealerships, seems more times we vent our frustrations and share the bad, and I want to spread the joy, and share some GOOD.!
Frederick HD/ Buell, of Frederick MD. I have praised the sales staff in the past, but have had reservations with service,... well today, I want to say a Thank you to both!
First, I was in last Sunday and purchased a new Blast for my wife. I had been discussing it with them for a week, and said I would buy it if the numbers were right. I bought my 12R from them last year, and being in love with the bike, never really tried to negotiate much, but was very happy with the purchase. THIS time, it was not mine, and I guess I felt it did not much matter, so I gave the "Ultimatum" try. Well, they worked with me, and the entire purchase experience was a pleasure. The same day ( Sunday ) I dropped off my bike ( the 12 ) for a TPS reset, said I'll be back in a few hours ( had to take my wifes bike home ) and asked if they could poss get to it. I was not emphatic, and just said if they could I would appreciate it. They only had one mechanic on at the time, and were'nt sure, but politely said they would try. Well, by the time we went for our little shop tour ( given by the salesman to the new bike purchasers ) it was done. I also made an appointment to drop off my front suspension tubes ( to complete my 10k service , and actually had to go a few days later than the date he was willing to schedule for me, as I was committed to a ride that day, and was floored that I could get them in so soon. Now, as it turns out, the ride I did not want to miss is tomorrow, our first ride as a Buell group, started by the sales manager. However, on a ride today, my bike had some problems. I managed to get it started ( Thread in XB section, voltage regulator went )and got to the Frederick HD around 1 PM (Sat).

Praise 1). Joe in service. He listen to my half-@55 rant about my problem, took the bike right in. I wish I knew the techs name, as he called me back to explain exactly what the problem was, then proceeded to check it out.

My wife and I wondered up front to say hey to Sandy ( our sales person ) and Blaine, the sales manager. We ended up taking a quick test ride on the Street rod just for fun, and upon return,I went back to service. Joe said it was diagnosed to be a faulty voltage regulator, and that they put my battery on a charger. Problem was, they would not be able to fix it for a few hours, the tech had to finish the job he was doing before he could get back to my bike. Hell, I was happy that they had the part, I did'nt mind.

Praise 2). I went back up front, mentioned to Sandy that we would be stuck here for a while, and asked if it would be possible to take a demo for a little while. She offered up the Street Rod, but I know they have it out front for promotional purposes. I was wondering if they had something that wouldn't be missed, but as they are going through a major reconstruction and have limited room, most of there demo fleet is at their sister dealership in Williamsport. Blaine said they had an Electra glide Standard I could use, and so I did. They were very cordial, and went out of there way to get it out and tag it for me, and basically said go and enjoy. You have to remember, these people were busy with sales and other customers, and could have given me a polite "Sorry, can't help". I did not abuse the priveledge, and put less than 15 miles on the bike, as we just went to a restaurant and relaxed in a nice cool place for a while.

About 4 PM, we were back on the Buell, warranty item, no hassle. I don't know if it was due to coming off an Electra Glide or not, but boy did my bike feel good, and seemed just a bit more peppy. That low batt has been warning me for a while I think, cause it sure s#!ts and gets now!

What could have been the beginning of a bad weekend has was evaded, and I want to thank all the people involved at Frederick Harley Davidson, Buell! My wife made mention to me that she felt it was the fact that I purchased 2 bikes from them, I reminded her that our 2 Buells retail for less than 1 of their big twins, STOCK, and they never leave the showroom without $$$$$ of extras. Nope, we're nothing special, but boy did they treat us that way!

Some very influential, and concerned, ones will....I'll aid that process.

Do follow the "Court Dealer Doctrine" and remember the two most important words....

Thank You

Excellent write up and great to read!

Believe me, "Thank you" was a very easy thing to say,... over and over.
