For any of you that took offense to my posts the other day, I do apologize.

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=32777&post=465800#POST465800

I was getting irritated at Wizzard, fogal, and his other aliases. That board troll sucked me in and I stooped to his level.

He won't, Blake made sure of that.. (IP ban)
I just wanted to make sure that no legitimate BadWebbers took offense to my posts. There was no intent to ridicule the contributions of legit BadWebbers on the board.

I didn't see anything you posted to take offense to! By the way, I like the look. I noticed he didn't post anything else afterwards.

Who cares?! It's all right to get a little hot isn't it? I'm not denegrating your sense of manners, pal, but I think this is largley a guys hang-out.

But your use of visuals as a sarcastic element is stunning. Don't go anywhere..this board needs a little edge.

No offense Blake!

Just keep to the board policy and all is well. : )

Thanks GC.

It takes more balls to make a public apology than a public spectacle.

Jerry,
I was going to mention the same thing... It's hard to make a remark without offending someone, so sometimes it's best to say nothing.

Once in awhile I'll post a little remark here for fun just to rub someone who is getting a little anal. I try not to fall to the level of some of the guys that used to be here (and some have come back in a nicer mode) who had to find fault with everyone's questions and comments. I felt it was pretty infantile, kind of what has happened over at ATC.

By the way, I picked up a ST1300. I really kind of wanted to get the FJR but my better half wouldn't go for it (too much like the Blackbird that she hated). I don't think I'll take it thru the curves like you rode the FJR. I don't get the feedback from the suspension like the real sportbikes give and am a little afraid to over do it.

Mike, congrats on the ST. if the fit, function and finish is anywhere near what it was on my VFR (which i know it is), you'll LOVE the bike.

re: the "retarded" comment above, i almost let it go, but in the end i couldn't. i found that the handicapped adults i worked with were just like the rest of us in most respects (including the ability to have feelings hurt via unkind, thoughtless comments), with the obvious exception that they had been dealt a low hand at birth.

not their fault, but something they had to live with and make the best of, and the drive and enthusiasm and zest for life on behalf of many of these folks would put a lot of us "normal" people to shame.

sorry to hijack the thread.

Differing opinions, perspectives and views of the same value.

Sounds like we're all pretty much on the same track and have reached the point where all understand each others position and understand it.

I removed, recently, a joke that alluded to physically assaulting one's wife. The joke was funny, the concept was not.

Ferris, my old and true friend, a sincere thank you for reminding that one of the things that has helped Badweb endure and remain strong is that we have brought to the internet, not hidden from, our collective values.

And a thanks all others for, making this a discussion, not a brawl.

You guys are good....VERY GOOD!

We'll call this one concluded.

It's common for people to joke about their/others less than desirable situations/conditions. It's one of humankinds way of dealing with stress. Ask any therapist/psych type.

I think too often it is seen as just rude when in text...It's cool prez, I do it all the time. My job is stressful, so my workplace tends to be really funny. It's how we cope. You DO NOT want to be in the same room as a bunch of Marines if you're easily offended! Mammas, babies, animals, your sister! All is fair game...

seriously badweb ol'timers...thankyou...hope i didnt burn a bridge with a slip of my tongue..i hope u have much more to teach a newbie like me in the future...prez

Hey Prez, don't sweat it. From one smart arse to another, you will learn more self controll as you get older.

Till then, remember:
It is better to be a smart arse than a dumb sh*t (hehe)

bravest man I ever met was both developmentally and physically challenged -- he got up every day, took care of business, went to his job, supported himself, put smiles on many, many people's faces, wnet home at night, cared for his pup, and did the same thing the next day --

to most, no big deal -- to him, a struggle comaprable to climbing Everest (no exaggeration, believe me), and he did it with humor, grace, patience, and pride

Tom was, is, and will be my hero --

I've not jumped on teh Special Olympics comments in the past, but, for some reason, this one prodded me to comment -- it is, marginally, a fairly witty use of the language -- it also displays a lack of exposure to those folks, or a lack of compassion, one or the other . . . .

thanks fer letting me rant
