She did not want to risk leaving it on the street, where it might be vandalized...

So instead she asked her husband to park it in what was now once their garage...

and people bust on Buell quality

Dang... That is a scary situation.. I wouldn't want to even think of that happening to anyone. Getting your house on fire in the middle of the night.. Why wire a switch like that "Hot" at all times? interesting engineering.

I'm not an engineer, but after having spent my career working with em, I can't think of ONE that would approve a design like that -- glad all our garage is full of bikes and the Primary Support Vehical (31 ford), whose entire electrical system consists of 3 wires, 5 light bulbs, and a battery that wouldn't run an MP3 player for more than 20 minutes

Man, quite the bummer for those families. I guess I'm gonna have to get under the hood of my 95 F-150 to either rewire the switch to a only on with the key or remove it all together. Sure don't want to go through that. Thanks for the info. BTW I do not park it in the garage...

The same thing happened with my aunts Mercedes, caught fire in their garage and burned half the house down. Meanwhile, my '91 Explorer is still running like a dream!
