many of us use xerographic copies of maps in our tank bags (those nice color copies that BRAG hands out for Homecoming and their other events are great examples of that) -- now that it's heating up again, remember that the sun beating down on the tankbag can cause the toner to fuse to the inside of your map pocket -- while that is handy in that you'll never have to have THAT map again, it can cause issues is you wish to view another map in the same pocket . . . . .

bring a suitably sized plastic baggie (trimmed, if you like) or a couple of sheets of saran wrap (if you, unlike me, can ever make that stuff do anyting except cling tenaously to itself in a little ball) to cover the map surface -- that way, the toner transfer won't be a bother . . . .

A 35mm flim container is a real handy way to deal with the ear plugs.
