Is there any commonality between front axles for a broad range of models, such as all conventional forks, all inverted forks, all tube frames, etc.? Phrased another way: is there a single part number that is used on many models/years? |

I would think so but I will need to check for you with the parts manuals. What do you need to know fits what? |

All S2, S1, X1, S3 and M2 modles will fit each other no prob. That is correct a inverted axle will work on a convention set up an vise versa As for RS, RSS I have no clue and all XB's are interchangeable with each other. Blast runs solo and will not fit any other model. (Message edited by spiderman on May 30, 2005) |

Someone volunteered to make me a front axle in titanium, hollow etc. but it occurs to me that there might be some popular interest in it if the price were good? |

Rear axles are different from cast aluminum swingarm (X1) to steel swingarm (S1). S1 is longer. |

I can't get even a rough quote until I know whether I can use 5 or 50, etc. This is not from "some guy with a lathe in his garage", it's from a defense contractor who also rides. |

So start with 5 and go from there. But look at the prices here at American Sportbike to get an idea if it's a deal. http://www.americansportbike.com/shop/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi |

Now I see why no one buys them. Oh well, just a thought. |

there ain't nuthin wrong with bein some guy with a lathe in his garage ;-} just yankin yer chain, sir -- titanium is tough to work, and making a life supporting bit from it would NOT be something THIS guy with a lathe in his garage would attempt (for someone else, anyways) |

I respect home craftmen (being one myself in a modest way), I meant that it's easier to interest people if the product is CNC. |
