I had some time to kill Saturday morning while I was at my daughter's graduation from ISU. My dad (who was a very good saleman most of his life) and I stopped by Zylstra HD/Buell in Ames. They had several Buells parked right out front and had slingbag signs and stuff up around the shop. I started asking them about the Buells and then asked "what is this sling bag offer thing?" I basically had to pry it out of them what the offer was. I mentioned that I might be interested in a City X and what was the difference between it and the Lightning that they had as the demo. They had the City X in a back room and didn't even walk back with me when I went to look at it. Then I almost had to beg for a demo ride to get the bag. It is no wonder that Buells aren't being sold. My dad and I just laughed about what lousy salesmen the two guys that talked to us. Here I acted like a semi-knowledgeable customer who wanted information on Buells, yet had to pry it out of them. Never once did they talk about money or ask what I rode or how much I rode. Then the kicker was one of the guys tried to steer me to a V-Rod which I told him held no interest whatsoever to me. The one consolation was that I got a bag, but even then they had to go search for them. | ||

I went by Tilleys last week to get a bag and they had a big banner outside the front door with the promo on it. I was on my 9S their demo bike was a 9sx so they ask if I wanted to ride or just get a bag. Got the bag and looked around a little. They have allways been helpful and had any thing I needed in stock. Even the 12 air box cover.A1 dealer!! | ||

Cameron: I am Fuelled up, tooled up and ready to rock! The box came several days ago and it was so gosh darn big I thought it was something for my SCU (Spousal Control Unit). Last night she asks "why haven't you opened this box?" Duh.... This thing is great, in fact I packed some stuff in it last night and slept with it on. No pain, no problems tossing and turning and the fabric appears to "breath" as both mice were doing fine when I woke up this morning. I'm going to wear it around today and photograph folks expressions as they see the NEW, "suddenly stylish" me. Thanks a million! Court | ||

Our Buell dealer in Alaska is a stand up operation all the way, when I asked they weren't exactly prepared but they went out of their way to get me set up, weighed me and set the bike up, and told me to go out and have some fun. And that's what I did....I now see why Buell encourages test rides. The bikes are quite infectious. After the ride, they got me the bag and then asked if I wanted the blue bike, the red one or the black one, and I was pretty seriously considering it. Even thought about trading in the S2 I'd just bought there the week before. The guys at Anchorage House of Harley and Buell ride Buells and like them, no HD snobbery there. If any of you folks in Alaska want a sling bag, go for it. It's a nice bag! | ||
