Jim that's great thanks. Optimized is better than none at all. I've looked for ages now and should have asked you instead silly me. Those two pic's will be hanging in frames on the wall in my new place soon. It's one of the best Choppers I've ever set my eyes upon and I simply love it. Thanks man. Hey, hope you're over that 'shite' spell you went through recently too. Ta Jim  AS A FORMER CHOPPER PILOT AND BUILDER OF...... I agree about the Buell stuff on the green custom. There's a lot more Buell on that there bike than first meets the eye. I looked closely first - and stand by my S1 fuel tank comment etc. I can't say I find the bodywork style on this particular bike that comfortable to my eyes though I can appreciate where the style is heading if you like. Still I think it would be even more of a compliment to Buell if the style of the Lightning tank were there too........and those top frame tubes. About 20 years ago Superbike magazine joined forces with a well established custom builder of the times and they built a custom machine to give away as a prize. That custom was called the Bolide and if my distant fading memory serves it was pretty much of similar architecture as the green custom here. Nothings new in town then. Like I said if the green custom were mine I'd change a few things. Bad it up a little and ride it and I wouldn't give a flying saucer rock 'n' roll what anyone thought. As I understood it I thought custom bikes were supposed to be a smack in the face of establishment. A two fingered (or one in your case dudes) wave at the more conventional of rides if you will. Way nice custom! This is what I tell people, a chopper or custom doesn't have to have a super long front end or serious raked frame. One of my favorite builders is Hank Young and one of my favorite bikes is the Mills Arrow built by a co worker of Hank Young. Of course with no front susupension this one would be a handful to ride ,but cool nonetheless. | ||

Try these guys too. One of my current favourites the 'Little Bastard" James Dean tribute chopper from Walz Hardcore Cycles  What would I do different from Walz? Place the tank so it sits level above the motor and fit ape hangers. See, no matter how good it is or who builds them, there's always something eh LOL Rocket | ||

Jon I'm a fan of hardcore choppers and have been for years. I don't go much for frills and chrome either. In fact that's the way the Streetfighter seen has gone these days in the UK. Now we get Spondon's and the like wearing silly little add on extras in the efforts to be that little bit different from the next guy when what use to be was minimal was coolest of all. With regard to your fag comment. The reason I like the James Dean chopper that much more than stuff I've seen recently is because it really does take a pure hotrod stance for its theme. It saddens me that you think that chop amongst the others here fits in with your description. Like Tom asks, I'm curious too. What do you ride? In fact why not contribute to the thread by showing us what you favour so at least we can call your tastes fag like in return. Thanks for your input. Rocket | ||

Chainsaw, I'm with ya' on this one! I do recall the very first Confederate motorcycles. Always industrial looking, performance oriented and built well with top shelf components and lots of custom billet. The Hellcat just looks the business...the bike just screams techno-industrial revolution on steroids with a dose of cactus juice for extra edge! The Confederate B91 Wraith will make it's formal showroom debut this June with the first 20 being delivered at the factory to their owners on October 31st with a procession through the French Quarter...first glance it seemed 'weird' and odd but then again so did the first Buell I ever encountered. I have that 'gut feeling' that Confederate Motorcycles are not insignificant... A journey to New Orleans is in the planning. (Message edited by Kevyn on May 15, 2005) | ||

You can have any color as long as it's black. Chrome??! Chrome is for your belt buckle! He never seems to win the biker build offs BECAUSE of his minimalism and lack of shiny bits. I can't wait to see the V-Rod motors transition to the custom builders. Or just start using a vertical intake and FI. The air cleaners are just killin' the lines on these bikes! Nice trike!! | ||
