I was depressed when Edwards shook his head after being passed by Rossi and Gibernau ..with that sort of attitude he is never going to win a race.

I always look forward to Gibernau's petulant press conferences , this time he called Edwards by his first name, but could not bring himself to refer to the Doctor by anything other than Rossi, he's a miserable little shiat !..llike a MotoGP version of Schumacher when he loses.

Alright, so let's try this again ...

Mark, while the warning in the thread title is a nice idea, and although I know you did not mean to, you posted the race results as the very first thing in your post which was exactly what I politely asked you not to do.

Here is the explanation:

I - and likely many others - use the Search function to review posts on Badweb. Please try it out so you can see what I'm talking about;

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/search.cgi

Click the link above and select "Messages posted within the last" 1 day(s).

The resulting list shows a list of threads as well as the individual posts along with the first 5 - 10 words in those posts. Scroll down and find this thread and you will see your own post. Your post there shows up like this:

12r - 05/16, 10:30 am - 1st Rossi 2nd Gibbers 3rd Edwards So what did y...

As a result, again - I know you did not mean to, you have now given away the actual race results, which is going to make it a lot less interesting for me to watch the race when I get around to it.

That is why I in my initial request, asked that you do not post race results in the first line or two of your post, not just the Thread title, but in the post as well.

Had your post looked like this instead, it would have gotten your message across without giving away the result:

So what did ya think of the Le Mans MotoGP race this Sunday ? Spoiler: race results are following:

1st Rossi
2nd Gibbers
3rd Edwards

Is it me or...shhh...is it gettin' BORING ?

HO HO HO Henrik's peed off. Man I would be too if I were in his shoes. Tell you what Henrik don't waste your time watching the race. Skip to the last ten laps and you'll do just fine.

The BBC coverage was pretty good. We saw Rossi offer his hand to Gibernau at the race end, and he accepted.

Gibernau was interviewed in the pit lane after the race by Suzi Perry. He referred to Rossi as Valentino.

Did you guys get the same pictures as us? When the results table was posted it was over an aerial shot of the bike park. Those French love their bikes that's for sure. I've never seen so many bikes parked in one place.

Speedvision doesn't use the SKY (I think that was the network) anymore for its feeds which really sucks, SKY seemed to use the same camera locations and amounts as the F1 races do. Now we seem to really only have 1/4 of the camera views of the tracks. I was comparing a VHS recording from about 5 years ago to one from this last weeks viewing on speed of the 250 race...even the 125's had more camera views of the diffrent parts of the track then the 250 race I watched. It also seems like alot of the cameras are not manned, just set and locked in position. Its really frustrating from my point of view. I loved watching the European bike races on FoxSports and Speed. They would show the British equivilent of the AMA races over here and the video coverage was fantastic. The commentators were hilarious, especially if there was an American rider racing, they would try and do this Texas accent with their (to me) thick British accent, but their commentary was always spot on as far as anylizing what was happening on the track and their predictions of when someone would go for a pass we almost always either spot on, or within 1-2 turns.

Rocket,

I felt that Gibernau took Rossi's handshake very reluctantly, I don't think Rossi did anything to Gibernau in this race to upset him.

Rossi and Gibbers were pals until Qatr last season. Then Gibbers team filed the protest that put Rossi at the back of the pack. Vale hasn't been too nice to Sete since then.

Rossi can ride though. Fastest lap of the race on the last lap. Worn out tires and all. I did notice that Speed didn't carry the post race interview with Colin though.

UK sub, I agree it looked like Gibernau was reluctant at first but it also seemed that Rossi persisted to which Gibernau eventually responded.

I don't know whether you noticed or not but what did it for me was immediately after they let go of one another's hand Rossi tipped his head which looked to me like a thousand thank you's for accepting his gesture, possibly even an apology for previous incident. Maybe if nothing else it was definitely a sign of respect towards Gibernau. Whatever it was it was a mature gesture and a return to the Rossi that I like. Can you feel the warmth!

I love the art of motorcycle racing and I've always believed there's a great grass roots thing that makes two wheeled racing much more closer to the common man than say its four wheeled counterpart. For this reason I like to see the sport competed in by fierce rivals on the track but not off. I imagine the after race conversations between the racers goes pretty much like what we guys do when we get to the pub after a hard days ride. We split hairs about how great and how stupid we were that very same day on our two wheels but no matter what friendships prevail. I know, I have a vivid imagination at times but I do see motorcycle racing as much more competitor friendly than the four wheeled sport.

Wycked thanks for that. I was curious to know. We do get great coverage and commentary over here it has to be said. Our problem is when we get it unless we pay the SKY channels.

HO HO HO Henrik's peed off.

Well, a touch : ) ... but I'd like to think that I'm dealing with it in a fairly controlled and mature fashion ; )

Just kidding about the peed thing - in honesty though, I would prefer to be able to watch the races without knowing the results.

Henrik

What did you all think of that young woman at Indy? Nice bit of driving and she has the guts to put her foot right back down and run the 3 fasted laps of the day. Some talent there.

The exciting moments were when Gibernau was climbing his way up to Rossi.

But I cheer my lunges out, my 12 year old son who's obviously a Rossi-fan doesn't take long to do the same for his fan. In the end we wrestle a bit, we hug and laugh about the whole thing. It's fun. Really.

I think the 'ole Tornado might be our biggest hope in Laguna Seca to see an American win it. What do you think Rocket, since you have less of a bias viewpoint? I drove by the race track this weekend because I was in Monterey on business and my hair was almost standing up. I cant wait to be driving up there for the race.

I think Edwards is one of the nicest guys in the sport. His wife is drop dead gorgeous too. I love the way he speaks his mind openly and slings in the odd profanity to boot.

Whatever chance he has of winning a home GP it was great to see him do so well at Le Mans. No one can doubt his talent on a motorcycle and if he gets the Yamaha dialed in like he did his Super Bike Honda's it will be a pleasure watching him ride it to win it. Wish I could join you for the race.

I caught the highlights on SPEED!! Great racing IMHO!! They showed some of the Edwards interview because they said it got cut from the original airing. I never knew watching a bike race would be so exciting!! I am hooked for sure!!

Edwards is cool. His is also tough as nails. Anyone who thinks otherwise is asking for it. He also has a well developed sense of the goal, he want sto win championships not races. He does that by finishing not crashing.

I par ticularly like his comment about the Isle of Man TT, after taking a fast lap around the course following a fellow who knew the fast way round he said "Now I know what kind of machine it takes to win here, it takes a wheelbarrow to haul around your balls"
