Hanses25, Davegess is correct. That is a custom bike. It's no more a Buell than a Custom Chrome Fat Boy kit is a Harley. I think trying to call it a Buell is where you're hitting a snag here. Duff24, I think most people here do know a good custom when they see it. The above pictured bikes are custom bikes, not Buells! I do appreciate the work and effort that goes into building a custom! But that doesn't mean I necessarily like every custom I see. If you build a bike, you should build it to please yourself. If others like it, so much the better. What I don't appreciate is an unwarranted over reaction to honest opinion. I know some of the things I've done to my M2 will probably garner some negative reaction. But know what. I don't care! I am creating the bike to MY standard of beauty. Ease up a little friend, life's too short to get yer panties in a bind about other peoples opinion.   | ||

The green custom would look a lot cooler with a conventional fuel tank sat on a slender top frame tube. I might be tempted to have done it with the top sections of the S1 frame using an S1 fuel tank. Doing so might have left lots of the frame exposed for view giving a skeletal effect above the motor. I'd junk those forward controls. The front hugger could do with more thought too. Smokey Jim, what's the chances of you posting those pics again of that ultra cool 750 Four Chop you spotted in the street a couple of years ago. so let me ask this.... if i take my s2, put in a 100in s&s motor, raceteck forks, penske rear shock, crossroads handlebars, is it still a buell???? it would then have less buell parts on it than one of these..... things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmm..... | ||

If you build a street rod and use a Corvette engine, suspension. and wheels you would not call it a Corvette. Those bike are choppers not Buells. | ||

I agree that these bikes are not 100% Buell. Its just the comment that whoever builds and rides these bike looks like a retard with a boner wearing sweatpants that upsets me. I love this board and sometimes wonder why some of us have such elitist attitudes. | ||

Do we really think that Erik is crying over this? Hell, he did the same thing Harley in the beginning of his days. What if in ten years the guys making these bikes are as big as Erik and his company, being supplied by Erik and his company, and promoting Erik and his company. I for one would like to be associated with that. These bikes have awesome minds at work behind the creations! They did a great job, some of us like it, some of us don't, so what! Hey Rick I'm for sure Jeff the builder of the orange bike, isn't afraid to lean. Check his web site out, you will be amazed. So I would say if you cannot afford an expensive chopper, or like something different, this would be the way to go. I don't remember calling these bikes Buells, I simply stated it was more Buell than a lawnmower with a Buell sticker on it, piloted by a retard in sweats with a boner. I don't care for the green one, but the others I like. I am still waiting for someone to build a custom frame that will take most of the XB parts, as used and wrecked XB's are getting cheap to buy. I'm about ready for a new project. | ||

Like many here, I really don't like at all the green bike, this bike is ugly and like many chopper probably not fun to ride. I really found the orange one and some other really nice too. The problem I have with choppers, is a lot of them are almost not "ridable". If you look at some OCC bike, they are pieces of art and they have a good creativity but I would not ride that for more than 15 minutes before I get cramped on the bike. If you REALLY like to ride bike (make bike trip, do some track time, rides on back road) you get a real bike. If you want to show off, you get a chopper!  | ||

the green bike has tank style made popular by Chica customs. His forward swept design is actually very cool. while this one doesn't look good on this application and a poor ripoff. It is a cool design. A lot of customs are very rideable depending on the type of riding you do, not everyone burns corners with their hair on fire, some just like to cruise. I have rode a few rigid customs and only a couple have been very uncomfortable. Most handle better than the average goldwing or heritage. | ||

You want to know who liked that orange bike so much that when he saw it in American Iron he had to have it, Brad Pitt. Jeff (mcworx) does have an XB frame coming soon, he is one of the nicest guys I have met that stunts, and yes that is a custom but it only has three major parts that are not Buell, the frame, gas tank, and rear fender. The rims, motor, forks, brake rotors, brake pads, clutch cable, front brake line, rear brake master cylinder, wind deflector, lights, gauges, ignition, key, bearings, etc, etc are all Buell. Maybe we are riding Harleys and not Buells since Erik stuck a modified sportster motor in a frame and put his name on the gas tank or air box and add some other parts that only his imagination could come up with (Wait that sounds like someone made a chopper out of a Sportster, maybe it wasn't raked out but he made a change towards what his imagination wanted and then sold it, later it was bought out by H-D). So if anyone has this many H-D or Buell parts in their car then I would let them call it a Buell or a Harley. Yes Buell = well engineered and tested bikes, why do you think Jeff used so many of the parts. I really don't care what people call it, it is a great looking and an extremely comfortable bike to ride, unlike most extremely raked out bikes known as choppers. Weren't the first choppers Harley Davidsons? That had certin parts chopped off, but the idea just came from someone that could take the imagination of the H-D engineers one step further, well that is how I look at the bike that people are using Buells to create, just someone taking Erik's ideas further, maybe in a different direction but in a direction that many like, I personally will own one of these bikes made by Jeff and the guys at mcworx and will also have a buell that has some other companies exhaust on it (Can I still call it a Buell if I Modify it in anyway, or does it lose its right to the Buell name only when I modify the frame, or how about when I have Nallins modify my motor?). It is sad that so many people cannot see a good thing when it is staring them in the face, their egos seem to always get in the way. I like anything that has 2 wheels, it doesn't matter who created it, they all have personality, just some have more, kind of like the people on this board. So maybe I will call it a CUSTOM BUELL!
