Anybody going to [or know of anyone attending/racing at] Isle of Man this year?

I'm on the way after 40 years [no kidding] of dreaming...

Curt the Team Elves to I of M trip all fell apart, due to commitments in other directions by every one. Have an awsome time and lets see some pics when you return.

There are no Buells racing on the Island this year, but there will be the annual TT week Buell get together. This is a popular event that normally attracts a good crowd of Buell enthusiasts and bikes from all over the UK and Europe. It normally takes place in a pub car park so refreshment is close to hand: ) The guy organising the event is Dave Harris, Island resident and racer. You can contact him at daveh@manx.net for details of location etc.

I can promise you that once you've seen superbikes racing on the Island any other racing will always look very tame by comparison!

If you get a chance check out the DVD from the 2004 Isle of Man. What a crazy race course and absolutely insane riders!

Not to mention Mark Mcguiness power wheeling a race prepped 2004 R1 at 175mph.

My favorite is the production class where the bikes are totally stock right down to the license plate bracket and stock exhaust. The big gsxr`s 1000 were power wheeling at 150mph, crazy stuff.

thanx to all for info - Tuono Joice & I are getting REALLY excited.

Our plan - arrive Mon 6/6 and locate our rented house; join in Tue with the UK Buellers @ their get-together; watch the 2 or 3 remaining racedays from curbside pubs; explore the roads on our rented BMW & try to dodge all the crazies.

Thsi weekend I'll've borrowed both "One Man's Island" & "2004 TT Review" DVDs for some pre-trip motivation....

If you like old bike be sure and look up the Vintage Motorcycle club meets. There should be several and they are very cool. Get a copy of MCN when you arrive.

Hey Dave & Rocket - thanx 4 the tips!

Ray Davies is 1 of my all-time favorites. He performs in Berkeley occasionally, and I've missed experiencing his unique take on things.

I regularly searched out "MotorCycleNews" [among other Brit rags] whilst living in San Francisco some 30 years ago - still have lotsa articles archived.

As it happens Curt, Plant's playing live on the TV now and I'm liking what I'm hearing. Very Led Zep man.

Whilst at the races watch out for a total nutter race bastard by the name of Guy Martin. He got banned from competing in BSB for slamming a lap top shut on the race directors fingers trying to protest a penalty he picked up racing at Rockingham.

Disappointed off he went to Ireland where he lives out of a van for 6 months of the year so he can compete in Irish road racing. In his first season he won two super bike races - on his 600.

Last year was his first TT. His fastest lap was 122mph and nobody has ever done a 120 in their first year. This year Guy Martin reckons he can win.

I'm going in 2007 for the centenary, there's a whole gang going from western France mostly HD & Buells.
People are booking ferries & accommodation & camping already for that, it's going to be BIG!

Guy Martin came 5th in the North West 200 last weekend. Like I said, watch out for him in the TT.

Michael Rutter who cracked 200mph on the NW 200 straight last year on his Fireblade did it again this year. He went 202mph IN THE WET!!!

How's his voice now?

I have the No Quarter DVD from Plant & Page (Unledded), I really like it and it's certainly not bad, but it's obvious he can't do what he used to do back in the old days. I also have a few older DVD's from the old times so I know what he used to sound like.

Robert Plant - Mighty Re-arranger

Bob please use seanpepper@gmail.com and I'll check my profile stuff later ta mate.

Just got word a friend is going to the TT in a large van sharing with another friend. They're taking two bike with them. There's a seat spare and room for a 916 too.

I hate these kind of decisions - only coz I have to be realistic and turn down the offer to go. Drat and double drat!!!!!!
