Today I rediscovered the reason I ride a Buell, the reason I put up with crap from all of my misinformed friends, and the reason I won't buy a different bike.

As a former Motor City BRAG member ( although, I may still be if the club still exists), I had lost my focus on my bike over the last 3 years and shifted direction to pocketbikes - even founded a racing league here in Michigan, and not the cheap Chinese bikes either - these are the high dollar, FAST European bikes.

With the influx of the knock off bikes I lost my passion for the sport and turned my attention to my dusty S3T. In dire need of a rear tire, rear brakes, and general love I set out this past winter to bring her around.

This brings me to today - I attended my first Buell event at a local dealership in quite a long time. First I enjoyed perfect riding weather during the hour or so trip to the dealership, I then got to turn a few laps on a course similar to a BattleTraxx event ( Reg Kittrelle where are you?!), demo'd an XB12 and a FatBoy and enjoyed another perfect ride home.

It is what fell in the middle of all of those things that made me realize how much I enjoy being part of this little club ( I like to think of Buell owners as the smart ones) of Buell ownership. I met a couple of equally passionate Buell owners, and was able to feel the camaraderie again I once knew every week. Amidst the Cruiser guys, sportbikers, and usual throng of posers, the true enthusiast stood out.

While no group (cruiser or sportbike) wants to claim us as there own, I can honestly say I don't want them to. We are our own identity all together... Lets say, we are to motorcycles as cuban cigars are to swisher sweets.

Hope to see all of you on the roads this summer, especially you Buellers.

You might have been over at the sportbike challenge when I was over at the dealership.

How did you like the RR they had on display, I asked if I could use it as a demo bike but they said no.

It was a good time I rode a 12R a 12S and a City X they are a world of difference from my X-1.

Where are you at? I am in Berkley and sometimes ride with Spiderman who is in dearborn heights we will all have to get together and go on a Buell ride some night or weekend.

Is American sticking with Buell?

When I was there in the Fall, during Football season, they had nothing! A Big Zero! It would be Great if they got back into it. I would love to visit them every Football Saturday, this Fall.

I have my MotorCity(#39) card hanging off my desk to this day.

I do miss that eclectic group of misfits on tuesday nights.
