Since it's only a little more than a week away I thought I'd post an invitation to all riders in the area on Badweb. The big attraction this year is the Dyno Drag Racing machine. Food Liquid refreshments Band Sure would be great to see a bunch of Buells here again this year! Who's coming? |

Dave! Gotta talk up how cool the Dyno is! From the Easyriders site: "Once "staged", the rider is looking down the simulated track, complete with an electronic scoreboard that displays top speed and elapsed time for each lane. With engines revving, the green light flashes and the riders accelerate their bikes, side-by-side through the 1/4-mile stretch, just like at a real drag strip. And since every run is also a dyno-pull, the Teresi Dyno-Drag provides a printout of horsepower for each competitor." Ever want to see those Harley guys get real quiet? Bring a Buell! |

They had one at a bar around here one time last summer, I didn't get to go but a friend told me it was a lot of fun. They did a horsepower shoot out type thing so you get some guys bringing out thier homemade projects so you probably shouldn't expect to win unless you also got a pretty hair homemade project. |

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/43/73254.html?1094007374 Scroll down, and you could see the fun we had at Hal's on the dyno drag last year. Dave, for whatever it's worth, *DO NOT* let the dyno guys tie down on the swingarms on the Buells. It makes the bike hop *REALLY* bad on launch, and well most likely snap a belt. like what happened to the S2 in the pictures. Launching a Buell between 4K and 5K will get the best results. Any less, and you'll probably bog the thing really bad. I think my nephew was launching at 8K on his GSXR600, and still bogged down big time. That flywheel on that thing is REALLY heavy. Unfortunately, I wont be there, I'm helping out at Hals, the Buell factory demo fleet will be there. The dyno drags are A LOT of fun! |

Just a thought Dave... How about some serious discounts on Buell parts to entice those that may be wavering on the fence? Always worked for me! Like maybe...... Final drive belts for 1/2 price if you would happen to loose one on the dyno! Yeah! That's the ticket! |

Well I had fun again. The rain (even though short) sucked, our van had to be removed from a field with a tractor, and I saw a guy crash his S1 at the end of the day. We had one short shower, and it was chilly, but the weather could have been worse I guess. We saw a lot of people at our booth and I got to see Chris Mackay get his but kicked by his son on the Dyno Drag. I also got to me UWGriz in person. This makes me look forward to the track day at Blackhawk even more. Looks like it is going to be a real fun group of guys going. When we pulled up we unloaded our truck and then they had us park in a field. Unfortunately our van and trailer instantly sunk to the frame. They got us out ok though. We lost part of a fan shroud I think? As we were loading up at the end of the day I watched some guy pull a great wheelie on his Blue (white framed) S2. I am guessing the owner of the Bronze S1 saw the same thing. As he went to leave about 10 minutes later, he tried the same thing. He brought the front end up on his third attempt but ran out of room to stop. He locked up the back tire, laid the bike down on the shifter side, and bumped one of the Harleys waiting at the stop sign (no damage, the guy didn't even pull over. The S1 rider looked ok, mostly hurt pride. The dealership owner, Terry, and two cops immediately ran out to help the fallen rider and Terry even pushed his bike back to the dealership. He looked like he was kinda laughing a bit. I think the S1 got the worst of the whole incident. |
