Till the guy that bought it started noticing big cracks in the framework where the engine mounts are...There is an 80cc and clutch kit available for the RS50 which adds a little bit more balls to them, but you still end up winding the hell out of them.

I have a HOnda NS50 and it's the same size. These bikes are a blast to ride. Take it to an empty parking lot and you can get a lot of good riding practice. It's amazing how well these small bikes can handle and corner. Performing stunts on the small bike has helped me to pop wheelies on my XB9R.

So, just out of curiosity. Those are 50cc 4 stroke engines right? So, how much power do they put out? I can't find it anywhere.

They are two stroke engines. There is a shop here that races the Aprilla 250 two strokes. Those things scream. If I could make a 250 2 stroke street legal here I would have one. In Texas, I think the max displacement of a 2 stroke street legal bike is 100cc.

There was a guy with the shop from Austin riding a black 250 Monday the 18th at the Texas Ducati Trackday at Motorsport Ranch. He was flying thru the snake section. You could hear him all around the track over the 4-strokers.

I think my Honda may have 8-10hp. It also has a 6 speed transmission. It's fun to pop wheelies and indos. I had a modified pipe on it that was real loud and it was fun to race around town and watch as I pass people and cars. What's cool is when I would pass a cop with the engine reving loud but staying under the speed limit. The fastest I've gone on it is around 63mph. I blew the engine about a month ago but I have two spare engines. One engine I bought off eBay and is out of a 2004 Honda NSR50R and only has a few hours on it. I have 2 bikes, one is street legal and the other I'm thinking of making into a Mini GP racer. There is a Go-Cart track in my area that may start racing Mini GP.

Some of the Buellers and former Buellers around here are racing 50cc 2 strokes. Most of the older ones are YSR and NSR 50's, the new ones tend to be Derbi GPR 50's, and one Aprilia 50. Stock, they suck and I would not want to teach someone to ride on one. A Blast is a far better learning platform. The 50's have a power band that is only useful from 10000 to 14000 rpm. Hard for a beginner to use well. Whereas the Blast pulls well from everywhere. Don't get me wrong, the Aprilia is well made but a lot more fun on the track with a ton of mods to it and can teach you a lot about momentum, maximizing cornering speeds, etc.

We don't get the RS50 down here, but do get the RS125 and RS250 in road registered form. The 125 is a waste of time unless your a very petit female. They just get screwed too much trying to get performance from them. The 250 on the other hand can easily make more power than the stock XB9R and are quite good rides. Durability is the only thing I see letting them down cause these things go about 5000 miles between rebuilds. Both bikes are nearly identicle in size and handle even better than the XBs. As a race bike though - they are on the mooney for learning how to go as fast as possible with skill, not HP.
